New toy….

There's a GSXR400 for sale near me:

For those of us who don't use Facebook:

Took the grab rail and rear pegs off, waiting for a seat hump to turn up then I’ll change the registration to “single seat” which is noticeably cheaper here.

Had a dig through my spares pile and found a pair of Gen-2 / B-King wheels, might get some sticky tyres for them, although I’m tempted to get them painted gold first.

Not a fan of the iridium screen so have a dark screen on order to.

Seat cowl isn’t the right colour but that’s fixable. I needed a cowl to register it as “single seat”, no Dept Of Transport offices near here so the local village police station changed its registration status for me. Might look out for the right colour cowl, might paint this one.

Just need to sort out a lock up for the BTL and swap the new Angel GT2 for something more sticky and I might look at a Test and Tune or a Street Meet and the nearest drag strip.

That's interesting that a detachable cowl can change the status of a motorcycle.....

No such thing here.....the vehicle's VIN is the deciding factor here...

The mounts are still there....

Our insurance goes by the VIN...
My fully Comp insurance I take out on my vehicles doesn’t change.

Our annual road tax / registration here included basic 3rd party insurance. Anyone who rides or drives any vehicle here that they have a license for then has basic 3rd person cover as long as it’s registered. As a pillion is a high risk in an accident not having one substantially lowers the insurance part of the road tax. It’s not fitting the cowl that lowers the cover, it’s not having a pillion seat of pegs fitted.

The insurance I take out myself is still the same.

This isn’t Australia wide, it’s just for Queenslands.

There’s quite a variation in road rules here.

We get single seat rego, other states don’t.
Some states get double fines on public holidays we don’t.
We get double fines for the same offence within 12 months, others don’t.
We have no annual safety inspections, other states do.
We have no annual fee for personal plates, some states do.

It's a good idea for sure....

We don't have inspections or plate fees here either...but my son in another province does so we are similar in that respect.

This province has the street racing law where if you get caught going 50 kms over the limit on hiways or 40 kms over the limit on lower speed roads you lose your license for 21 days, get your ride impounded and then off to court where you can lose your license for minimal a year and $10K fine....
