I had a 1998 v max that was wicked fast for a cruiser! No other bike I have owned had such a great sound. It had a v8 ish rumble at idle and a pretty serious scream to it when the v boost kicked in. It handled like total dog crap and had wimpy brakes!!! This is why I sold it!!!

It looks like the cruiser version of the B-king.

Also notice how the BUSA 'tobin' seat design has been stolen.

Max's have had that seat design forever. The seat bolster is latched/hinged allowing access to the fuel filler.

What I would like to see on the new Max is chain/belt drive, a 6 speed trans, radial tires & injection.

The shaft drive on the first gen units was not all that bad. It did not jack the back of the bike around when shifting in a corner like the shaft drive Honda's do. However gear changing is a major PITA with limited options. Swing arm mods etc get real pricy.

6 speed trans is a MUST HAVE. My Max was realy "buzzy" at 80 mph @ 5K rpm.

Radial tires is another MUST HAVE item. The last ones came with a 15" bias ply rock hard tire on the back. A wheel mod or change was required to get a radial on.

Interesting, we will see what it does in the finals. Not going to get any top speed awards even with 200hp on the open bike. It may do fine in the quarter, who knows. Does have a nice look to it. I wonder if the breathers are going to be real or just fake again.
