Is anyone out there using juice. What brand did you buy, what success have you had, what jets are you running. Thanks

i hope that guy doesn't represent all of dragbike.com. i would never mention anything about spraying the hayabusa without caution! dont feel safe until somebody makes a ignition brain box for fuel injected busa's. they're more than just one place this bike gets it's signal for the timing.you can't over ride all of them safley. yes, i too have carbs and a dyna 4,000. but there is alot more to it than that.alot more...by the way, i know of a total 3 differant guy's that already burnt thier busa's up! trying to spray.

Malcom,

The OEM fuel injection, coupled with the trap door in the airbox, will lend you a major bang the first time you try to squeeze this fine monster.

There's two people that I know of squeezing a 'busa right now, both use carbs and a Dyna 4000, plus no airbox.

FYI: Did you know that the airbox on a busa never builds positive pressure until 147 MPH? You could take it off, add some velocity stacks, remap the fuel injection, and probably make more power!

Frank what carbs are you running now and have you dynoed to see what increase in HP you gained...how much trouble was it. This is for David G. ... What exactly did you remove around the flap in air box...I have drilled out the small round indentions or circles outside of the flap but still inside of the filter. Did you remove more than that....I`ve got two busa`s and intend on really working on the one this winter...I`m a old prostar top gas boy and ran some pro-mod in IDBA a few years back. That`s when I ran Murray pipes...even had one on a Yamaha FJ that would easily run in top gas.

chris, i'm very excited to here your making plans to do what i've been doing. it's been somewhat of a headache because your doing alot of r&d. but thats the way it goes when you start this early...right now i'm not to overly rapped up with the fuel injection. because, you can't spray on it yet.(at least the right way).that's the only reason i'm going to use carb's.(so i can spray now). we worked with dyna and made our own ignition. there was a batch of 42 kiehn's made. i got a hold of a set, had them bored 1mm (you can go 2mm)so now there 43's...because of the trouble we ran into with the motor(headgasket) i'm not going to have them on it to start with. you guy;s have been providing some good stuff about the efi. i tried, and looked, and talked all over the country for info on this fuel inj. it was to new for anybody to really speculate on. i wanted bigger injector's,more fuel pressure.couldn't find then. maybe now, but i'm in another direction at this time...this bike is suppose to be on the street by this weekend. the bike is currently 300 miles from my house. believe me i've made alot of trips. i'm trying to get it ready for prostar in indy. unforchanitly i'm not going to have the carb's on it when i go, so i wont beable to spray.but we're still looking at a bike that has 225 to the rw. on horse! i've had a 9 inch over swingarm built for this bike and thats where my worries are right now, in the suspension. getting that horsepower to hookup.i've spent around 1500 dollars on street tires this year trying to find the best one. and it look's like the michlin tx25 race comp. wins the battle.yes i have a garage full of all the others. need one i'm sure i got what you need.lol...if you want to get serious about building your bike then you need to call me.....

Frank, I will mail you....I have a great performance shop close by for machine work...Carolina Cycle...very close personal friend of mine. Bobby Baker, Steve Tracy,Sam Patton ,Rusty Quesinberry all have run out of this shop...they do great machine work but porting is not thier thing..will need some help for sure and I will take you up on it. Have you tried accutronix for copper gaskets? I have to admit this will be first serious water pumper that I have tried...are you having to dry block? Everytime I`ve put a lot of compression in a water cooled bike before it spells trouble. I`ll just stop here and mail you and then we can talk!! Thanks!!!!

The air box needs to be modified, several have done it, the only thing that happens is you gain 10 hp. Thw area where the flapper is you can open up from 2.5X3.5 to around 12 inches.
Frank the power commandor II lets you decease the timing up to about 10 dgrees. this should fix you NOS timing problem. the only porblem is that it does it all the time not just when you spray.

david g: i want you to tell me...you can't apply it through the head. see what i think a person needs to do is, make a setup where the pc2 box tells ecm. that this is reg. setting. when the spray is introduced by the button, the pc2 then changes the setting to account for the amount of spray your feeding it. do this only when the button is pushed.... your sending inconsistant amounts of spray, when you put through a airbox! your timing needs to be adjusted to the amount your applying at all times...so how much spray are you putting into it? with the ram air how much at a 100mph, how much at 120mph? and so on. there's a right way to do it and it's not through the airbox...point being, you need a complete ignition box to do it right. i guess it all depends on the person, do you do it the right way? or do you half ass them... i know how mine will be done. p.s. please dont be affended by this statement!!

david g,you need to be very careful in what you are doing! spraying like this makes the airbox a timebomb...i spoke with marty kane the other nite and he told me about a guy over seas that blew himself up! experimenting with this"nos".....becareful!!!...frank

To Frank and Chris. So what it the prognosis. To install NOS on my bike or no!
Please email me directly, most particularly if you know anyone who has put it on the bike and NOT blown themselves up!!!
Thanking you in advance. Malcolm

CBX, I removed the entire area inside the lip of the air filter opening, I left the valve actuator inplace. removed the tabs for the flapper that use to hold it.
Frank, I like to aways mount the NOS as close to the valves as possible between the carbs and the head. It seems to work better. David G.

It looks like I found the problem with the EFI and NOS combination. Can you guys email me the phone # or email address of some of these guys that have tosted there busa's on spray?
This could be good for all of us that want to spray. By the way I only have about 4 years exp. in custom EFI

David G. would you e-mail or fax me your dyno curve after your air box mod showing the 10 hp increase? Is that 10 hp over stock or 10 hp on top of other mods you made. It seems too high. I also have done this, it takes all of about 30 minutes.

FYI Malcolm, I use the Nitrous express kit with the Piranha nozzles on my Outlaw street bike. I'm at 5800 feet elev so I won't use as much retard as you guys and engine damage isn't as likely but I think once you have your ignition and injection issues all ironed out they make a great kit and the nozzles have the finest (no pun) atomization of em all. Talk to Scott at S&K Racing too, he's a great source for putting alot of juice to a bike and what needs to be done to keep it reliable.

Rob

Well I just made a deal with one of the nitrous companies to develop a kit for the hayabusa. We will put a data logger on the bike so we know everything that going on. maybe a month or so and we will have something.
