Do I need to do anything to the engine to put nitrous?
what is the best setup outhtere? how much or what is a fair price to pay for it?

I have been told a 40hp dry shot is as high as you can go unless you want to do a wet kit!

my main question is
can i put nitrous with a stock engine?

I found the answer.
ususally I use the searched before i ask, but my internet on a navy ship is not very good it takes me 10 to 15 min to open a web page. sorry about that.

you can go up to a 60 shot and be on the safe side as long as the bike's fuel has been adjusted by a dyno tuner.
i am going to keep mine at a 40 jet or around 55 horsepower shot.

yes you can run nitrous on a stock engine.

i've got the NX dry kit on my bike right now, got to sell it to upgrade to a wet kit.  Only put about 5lbs of Nitrous thru it and decided it is not enough for the strip.  Anyone want one let me know I paid $300 for it late last summer. I'll include my custom nitrous map set up to run a .036 jet (41HP on the dyno).

I just got back from burning up the last quarter of another 2 lb bottle. The weather has finally improved and I could finally ride today - life is good right now!

For the money you can't beat it, yes your bottle does run out but man is it fun while it's there and it's only $10 a bottle.
