No more backfiring RS-3 owners

Brethren and Sistren (where ever you are...),

It took me this long to read this thread, and just long enough to deduce that I may be a motorhead, but I am NOT a Busa-technican yet.....

I'm the idiot that loosed-up the entire exhaust system looking for the backfire culprit in an exhaust leak. I'm old school, that's the way we chased backfire issues way back when. I deduced that it's way too fresh a motor, and I take too good-a-care of her to have chipped an exhaust valve, or have valve-train issues. A marble in the pair-valve vacuum supply line......GO FIGURE.......

I have the stock cans, but I've been developing this downshift backfire issue for a while now, and just never thought to read my darn shop manual. I'm going home to read my manual, AND when the Busa' gets to San Diego and I've delivered it home to Vegas......I'M HEADED FOR THE TOY STORE !!!.

Finally........

yes... I am a little behind on this subject... but I finally did the marble mod. I have anticipated for months... and also debated if there would be any negative effects on the bike due to marble mod.

Conclusion--no negative effects I hope.. we shall see...

I hope my exhaust doesnt spit fires anymore or putters around...

hey i just stummbled on this thread tonite, while getting ready to post a new thread.anyway i just got back from riding with my buddy tonite, and he told me he seen a 2 foot flame come from my pipe tonite when we were playing around, i have a 4 into 1 yoshi rs_3 on my 05 busa.well it's backfired sence i bought it 2 months ago and i never knew why.my exhaust is not the race i don't think anyway,it's got a carbon fiber can on it tho.but anyway i'm glad i found this cause i believe i'm going to try it out.do i have to worry about anything at all with this fix? and  of the ones that has done it,how are your bikes still doing on it? my bike has been remapped too, this won't change nothing will it? o.k thanks for the input guys, now lets hear it

I havent been on these forums for ages and had a right old laugh reading this thread.  Funny as fuk.

Buldges, footballs and marbles as well as 2 lb shite.  Good stuff.  Anyway- Nealburns asked a queation above- Is this worth doing to a standard Busa?  Will it make me go faster?

?

Thanks

Folks......am intending fitting some pipes soon to new 06 busa...have to ask though...if the marble blocks off unburnt fuel getting recirculated to the exhaust........what happens to the urburnt gas......?

It goes out of your exhaust into the ozone layer (the bad one)
The marble blocks off air from being injected into the exhaust.

Fuel+Air+Energy=Combustion
Unspent fuel in the exhaust can combust if you shoot some air in there because it already has the energy source (heat), so starve it for one of the 3 in the mix and you ruin the combustion mix aka no backfires

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure that's correct.
