I have a 2012 BMW 1000RR on order (all options incl motorad paint) and will be selling the Busa in a few weeks. I love the Busa, but times are changing and unfortunately, the Busa isn't. I want ABS, traction control, maps, and a bunch of the other new technologies available to us as riders. I'm not going to keep an antiquated machine around just out of brand loyalty, tradition or respect for what it once was.

Your goal is to spend a sizeable amount of cash in hopes of purchasing technology that will improve your skills and ability to control the beast. The only time those gadgets kick in is when panic has overwhelmed skills. Your skill level will remain the same with or without ABS & TC.

My point is, don't get your hopes up that ABS & TC is suddenly going to elevate your ability on two wheels. It will not! However, it will give you bragging rights during Sunday mornings with your friends at Starbucks!

Yes-sir-ee,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I'll be the first to admit I'm a caffeine addict! As a matter of fact I have one of SteveO's infamous lattes at my fingertips as we speak! Most of the Starbucks employees within the three surrounding counties know me by name as well as my preferred drink! Yes, much of the time I'm accompanied by my battle scarred Gixxer!

I have researched before I decided to change and the 06 seemed to be the best year for the 1k.... It just needs some Pilot power 2ct's to make it perfect.

That is a nice bike man ! That is exactly the same bike as mine. And they are right, it is even better at the track. The 06 1k is supposed to be one of the quickest bikes ever made and makes a ton of mid range power.

I have both a 08 busa and a 09 Gsxr 1000. Both are fun rides! Both have there purposes! I have had 2 02 gsxr 1ks and now an 09 gsxr 1k. I have ridden the 03/04 model and a 07 model. I havent had the pleasure of riding the 05/06 gsxr 1k. I have to say I have been hooked on this model from Suzuki. I have tried 3 times to go to another brands 1k, and still the Gsxr wins out. I do love Tillers and your 06 red/black gsxr 1000. Thats a hot bike! Each year has its improvements and they can be felt. The 09 is slimmer and more trim then the 07/08 model and lost just a hint of bottom end. That was fixed with gearing, a tune, and a full system. I ride mine on the street and the track, and wont hesitate to go on long rides too. But the busa gets the leg over the seat if a longer ride is what is planned.
