No more Oneida

I got a very nice GSXR jacket on xmas from Oneida this year. Only problem was it was too small even thought I measured a 44. They took it back and shipped me a 46 which when it was in route I decided to sell the 600 and get a Hayabusa. Well they refuse to exchange it for a different color. They state the policy is no returns on helmets and jackets. I can understand this but I've never opened it and I don't want my money back, I just want another style jacket. I've never had problems with them before now. The two times I've talked to them on the phone they were not the friendliest or helpful. I never once got mad or raised hell. I've never had problems returning helmets with the helmet shop.

That is not good news...I've been eyeing the new 2005 red/black leather Busa coat, and I really need someone that's willing to take it back since I can't try on coats ANYWHERE!!!

Well, thanks for the heads up...

Thanks for the heads up. I tried purchasing a helmet from them but they didn't have my size. Maybe that was an omen.

Michelle, you might ask around local dealers, some of them will order in sizes and not hold you to it if they dont fit/you dont like the item. If not, I know my dealer does that ... 4hrs from VA Beach to here

Being a dealer, I just wanted to let you know that we run into the same problem. Suzuki will make the dealer jump thru hoops just to get a jacket returned. Evidently that is something that Oneida doesnt want to do.

Working here for the last 11 years and running our mail order, making sure the customer is happy is top priority. I have exchanged jackets before and some are still here due to us not being able to return them to Suzuki. I would rather them eat our inventory than upset a customer.

Sounds like a road trip!

The dealer I purchased my Busa from is in NC as well, and I have nothing nice to say about my local dealer; just won't be walking in those doors, that much I'm sure of...

It's very frustrating for women to find/try on gear! And just like that Busa coat I want...it's made for men, so the sleeves will be too long and the chest will be too tight (shut up!), so I've always had a helluva time finding gear. It's hard to find someone that's willing to let me send something back, maybe even more than once until I get a good fit...

Ughhhh...

Well, since I'm whining - do Suzuki dealerships in other areas carry a wide selection of riding gear? The local shops DO NOT. They will order stuff, but I want to try things on. I'm really thinking about taking a road trip toward MD or down to NC to see what I can find...

I too ordered my Busa Jacket from Oneida and upon receiving it was the wrong size, even though according to the fit chart I ordered the right one. They gave me a hassle on a exchange and charged me a restocking fee. Pretty much defeated their good price, but at least I got a jacket that fit.

Got any Blue/Silver busa wear you need to get rid of? size 2x or 3x? I hate to see your shelves cluttered with unwanted merchandise!

I think Vman has a pretty good setup

but there's a few stores around here that stock a pretty good supply, though I think mostly mens stuff. I've been pretty happy with the folks at newenough.com and their write ups are pretty much on the money FWIW. If you wanna make a trip down I can put together a list of stores in the area or if you wanna plan on doing that and the deals gap trip

you can also check out Vman's place on the way up to the gap

I also had a problem with oneida. I purchased a aluminum race stand, it did not hold the busa one of the hooks that holds up the busa from the spools broke & my bike tipped over they replaced it but I said I wanted to change it for a steel one which was about $15 cheaper but I told them they don't have to reimburse me the difference but they still refused, last time I did business with them.

All these horror stories, and I haven't had one single problem with them. I've ordered a jacket, gloves, a gel seat, and miscellaneous other parts with them without incident. Kinda sucks seeing that my family is having problems. Maybe they are under new management or something...

I have never had any problems with Oneida. They sold me a jacket for $125 and my dealer wanted $249. Actually, I bought a busa and wanted to trade my yellow and black jacket for something else, and my local dealer actually took it in trade for the same jacket in a smaller size for my wife. It was like brand new, I had only worn it two or three times (short rides). I thought it was pretty cool, since I didn't even buy it there.
