Hey all! How is everyone? Havn't been here for a while and glad to be back I'm prompted to pose a question to the Suspention GuRuz...My buddy just bought an '05 Busa and when we had the both of them sitting side by side his is about 3"-4" higher in the front and back????WTF??? We did buy them at different places and I'm wondering if there is a certain way to set up the bike out of the crate...the owners man. says 5 lines on top in the front and cant remember what the back said...also he told them from across the pond when he ordered it that he weighed 240lbs. Is there something I should definatally check out??? I feel like mine is on the ground and I was always wondering why my low beam shines 10ft out in front of the bike(not safe at night on the highway!!). Also, I cannot find any difference in distances on the forks and triple clamps. What gives??? Thanks, Walt

The Busa is setup out of the crate for a 165 lb rider.  I weigh 240 lbs as well and added 5 full rounds of preload to the front as well as a few clicks of rebound and compression to help the Busa deal with my big a$$.  I added 2 rounds of preload to the back, but it felt like the rear was way up in the air, so I backed off 1 round.

More preload = less sag, so if the dealer added preload to compensate for the added rider weight, then the bike will stand higher.

Jinkster is the suspension god.  Here's a link to his primer.

Jinkster's suspension is the way to go...

Ok I also used Jinkster setup, and love the results. Anyhow, If you spin the collar 2 full turns, which reduces sag, arnt you also reducing the height of the rear end? I havent looked at jinksters post for awhile, and maybe Im just confused.

Ok...thinking out loud, did I spin the collar up or down...hmmm, cant remember...but did follow jinksters directions, and took measurements, and all is awesome, just cant remember what I did now.

Also, bikes parked next to one another sometimes do this, one looks much taller than the other. Go Figure. Working at a dealership this is real obvious. It took awhile to get used to it, but it's just an optical trick.

Swap the bikes around, and I'll bet, they are about the same ride height.
