Got my oil changed. Thanks to Blancas fairing removal and a few tips I learned from Cap, it was a snap. Very easy to do. She is serviced and ready to run 2500 miles. I will go to a full synthetic on my next change.

Nice job. I have changed my oil and filter four times and have yet to remove the fairings. I did review Blanca's videos though, cos I know sooner or later I am going to have to remove them.

Once you have removed them the first time the tension leaves and you can do it no worries, done mine about 5 times now and get quicker each time:thumbsup:

tell me guys if i had a lil suzki oil in my bike about a quart mistakenly poured out and i put some honda oil in to replace what came out, it seems a lil thicker is it ok to mix the to?

Just make sure the weights are the same and you should be fine.

Now that I know where everything is at I think I could do it by just loosening the bottom. But it was nice to have it out of the way so I didnt have to fight it.

on a gen II? How in the world did u get the filter out without pulling the fairings? I desperately tried to do it once but couldn't fit my man-hands in there to get access to the filter. Would be much easier to change the oil without the whole fairing removal process. I have heard of a few separating the bottom of the fairings to gain access to the filter, but i still don't see how u could get it out

I have seen a tread where some one cut the hole in the fairing a little larger to fit your hand in but my search has failed to find it maybe some one else may remember this.

Can you post a link of this how to? I'm in the search for a service manual and get her ready. I've not posted in about.. 6 mo. Finally got my Gen II. '08.. not trying to thread jack. Need oil changed and PC.. will the V work on the '08?

Yes the PCV will work. I'm not for sure where to find the service manual though.
