on a gen II? How in the world did u get the filter out without pulling the fairings? I desperately tried to do it once but couldn't fit my man-hands in there to get access to the filter. Would be much easier to change the oil without the whole fairing removal process. I have heard of a few separating the bottom of the fairings to gain access to the filter, but i still don't see how u could get it out

Well, my hands aren't exactly girly and I have no problem at all once I separate the lower fairings.

was just thinkin i might try to do it next change without fairing removal, then remembered i can't slide my filter out through the bottom of the header tubes with my full system brocks. Have to take it out the side. Oh well, fairing removal it is. I can get them off pretty quick now that i have done it a few times, and blanca's tutorial greatly helped my first time, i must have watch it 10 times before attempting to pull the fairing

Nice job. I have changed my oil and filter four times and have yet to remove the fairings. I did review Blanca's videos though, cos I know sooner or later I am going to have to remove them.

How do take off the oil filter without removing the fairing?
