Oil change gone wrong.

That's the same way i felt. When my frame got dull, 5 minutes and it's back again. But that's 5 minutes more than most people want to clean.
I believe the general public likes a dirty vehicle from all the himhaw i hear about cleaning. To me when i detail,it's an almost Zen like experience, to clear my head. Perfect therapy for me.

Clear powdercoating is done all the time on wheels. Foose, Coddington and Weld to name a few, all get their polished wheels done with a clear powdercoat. If it can withstand a lifetime on a wheel it should hold up on my frame. Heck, even if it doesn't work i can just strip the bike down again and redo it. It's no biggie. I'll be the guinne pig for you guys.

Foose, Coddington.. show cars... please dont get the wrong impression. Im not knockin ya. I just hate to see you go through all that trouble to do it over. I know several powdercoaters and have expiremented with translucent powder on polished and chrome aluminum. The polished stuff lost its gloss quick. Atleast hold off on the powdercoat if you go with polishing the frame.

Oh and dont get me wrong either, my bike has never seen any water at all and gets cleaned after every ride Qtips and toothbrushes for atleast an hour and a half. It also gets disasembled cleaned and pmed twice a year. The bike sits in my dining room.

Thanks for the info, before i do anything i have alittle research to do and a few calls to make.
One place i'm gonna contact is CSC and ask them how their frames are holding up. I like the translucent colors on their showbikes.
I'm going for the improbable, to do something different on a Busa.

My back up plan, my bike will go all black with a set of gold carrazio wheels.

A suggestion.. Candy blue frame and swingarm. chrome accents chrome wheels. Or skip the polish go with a black frame.. Ive always loved black framed busas.
