Oil Changing

How tight should the new filter go on? I dont have an oil filter wrench, I normally go hand tight and then maybe 1/2 turn more. But the stock filter was a PITA to get off, I put a screwdriver through it in three different spots and probably had to use the screwdriver to turn it two full turns before i could get it off by hand.

The oil is draining/dripping as I type..

Thanks for the tips, I like the aluminum foil trick.
