OK, here's the drill. I want to take my BUSA to the local public strip. For you guys that have been racing for a while I waned to find out what are the mods I want to do first? My riding will most likely be about 80-85% around town and 15-20% on the strip. I know this can get really really expensive. Therefore, I will have to build my bike over time, so where do I start to get the most bang for my buck?
Today my bike sits all stock except for a power commander, K&N filter and Bolt ons. I most likely will not change the Exhaust system because I really like the dual pipes. So come on with it. Yesterday was my wedding anniversary and I got a pre paid VISA with $1,500.00 on it and it is burning my pocket. The Pre Paid thing is my wife's way of making sure I don't get out of control too quickly.

Thanks in advance for reading and offering your input.
Also, be patient if I don't know what something is, I have been riding upwards of 15 years and have never drag raced. Of course I have smoked a few lesser bikes and cars on an open highway but no experience launching.
BTW: I already have full leathers, 4 or 5 helmets lots of gear so let's not go there!

Don't post much but I read a lot!

throw away the bolts first of all. i dont know why people waste there money on something that helps none but makes a lil louder. for the same money you could have had a full system.

first off get you a strap for the front. air shifter and a 16t front sprocket. also get either a race seat or another stocker that you can cut down to hold you in place when you launch. either 3 hole or adj. lowering links for the rear. shinko rear tire will help too. lastly get a full custom map on the pc3 for optimum performance for your bike.

20+ years of drag racing here...

Creature comforts are as important as the bike (especially if the wife is coming along)

Easyup awning or like... READ "good quality" (10X10 minimum and 10x20 preferred)... the days can get unbearable long without one. The rest is basic "camping" gear. (I know most of the "run what you brung" are at night but still a great investment for any racer)

Good seating as well... you are going to spend a lot of hours on your keester, make sure it is comfy

be surprised how much you use both these around home too...

Thanks for the input!! Call me strange but I just really like the look of the Dual Exhaust. With a single looks like something is missing. All the rest sounds good and is under financial review. I am trying to get as much out of this $$ as possible. Thanks again!! I have a place local that has a pretty good rep for tuning fast bikes. I will get my bike in with them for a custom map as soon as I get the mods complete. Would you agree I should do all mods then get custom map or does it matter?

oh then the airshifter and shift light

Thanks, already have an awning, chairs, and cooler done my share of all day pee wee football, 3 on 3, and socker tourney's with kids. That stuff is big in our family.
Where do I find fair price for air shifter and shift light? Is that something I would want to start out working with?

I would defer that to bike racers, but I would bet it is a good thing to start with if you are looking for consistency. (bracket racing)
