Okay, now I\'m pissed!

So I'm going to be picking up my Busa in a week or so and I go into my insurance office to setup insurance (Farmers BTW). She pulls up the "Suziki" brand (yes, that's what's in their menu system), and proceeds to tell me that they don't insure "crotch-riders". WTF?! Damn, I'm 35, and a pretty responsible rider, and my own insurance company (who covers my two SPORTS cars, 3000GT and MX-3, AND my house) will not cover my sportbike. Grrrrrrrrrrr....I'm pissed. Now I have to run around and find some lone insurance company to cover the Busa. Any suggestions? I live in Washington State.

I went through the same deal until recently when my car ins. company decided to start insuring bikes again. If they don't listen to threats of pulling all your insurance unless they cover your bikr to, get some prices from companies that will cover all your vehicles. Most m/c only companies get a pretty high premium to insure bikes.

Yes, this really aggrevates me. When I get some quotes, I think I'll have them work up the cars and house. If they're equal to my current coverage (or better)...buh-bye Farmers Insurance.

I had same problem after buying my bike. I asked for estimate and was told $256.00 for a 1300cc bike per year. After paying for bike I stopped in for them to write up policy and computer kicked it out as uninsurable! Was told it had nothing to do with me or bikes performance, but that American Family would not insure it because of high thief rating. I made a few quick calls and ended up with Progressive for $629.00 a year. By the time insurance runs out, I hope to have found someone to insure house, 4 cars, boat, & Busa at one place. 40+ with no tickets/accidents for over 10 years, will not pay this much again! Jack

Have Dairyland and rumor has it it is going waaaaay up from 368 a year to 1400. if so State Farm and allstate has good rates.
Just wait next year Farmers will insure them.

I'm with Nationwide. Tell your insurance co. to go f*ck themselves. Pull all your insurance off and RUN to Nationwide.

Here's what I'm paying for FULL coverage ($500 deduct):
'98 ZX-9R $500 (alone on policy), recently I ADDED a '00 Busa and my TOTAL is $940/year.

Oh, did I mention that I'm 21 NOW.

I also have my truck '89 S-10 (liability) and car '95 Grand Am (full coverage) w/ 100k/300k coverage.

Allstate is based on your driving record not the bike. They also insure turbos. My busa and zr/1100 with 100000/300000 and no deductable and 100000 medical payments is 700.00 per year.

I ran into the same problem. I switched all my policies over to Allstate from American Family. I actually wound up saving money. I could't believe they wouldn't cover "crotch rockets" but would cover my Toyota Supra a SUV and house. Well because they couldn't take care of all my insurance needs I took my bussiness elsewhere.

State Farm has mine too...just over $400.00 per year...If your insurance co wont write the policy, take your buisness to State Farm!!!!!

State farm. 293 a year full cov 100 and 250 deductible, on my Green thing with the big snorkel thingy on the front. Progressive wanted 1600 a year. I told them to piss off.

Thradar, you're going to have to check around for yourself in your state. I've found that every state is different, and the same company charges different rates in different states. (???) What's good advice from one of us from our state, could be bad advice for you there.
When you find the best deal, you'll probably get it only when you switch your house and other vehicles over, too.
Good luck!
Oh, I'm with Nationwide, with every discount available, and all the insurance they offer w/$250 deductible, no tickets or accidents, for just a tad over $1000/yr.

Just got off the phone with State Farm. They only cover motorcycles if you also have auto with them (I'm considering dumping Farmers Insurance anyway...jerks). Was quoted $325/year. I could live with dat. Waiting on call back from Progressive.

state farm--50 bucks a month !!! maybe not the best deal but there not bad--and never refused to insure anything i bring to them

State Farm $251 full coverage put a vehicle on the policy also, you will save money in the long run. We keep having harleys crashing in my city 4 this month already go figure? And they say we raise insurance costs!!!

I have state farm with no tickets- accidents,500/100 ded. and 100/300 coverage.... My monthly payment is $20
for a yearly of $244, my dealer couldn't believe it! I am 32 yrs. old. State farm
