Oklahoma Weather

Yeah thunder, lightning and ice pellets hitting the windows... StormAGeddon 2011 is here...

10" of snow? sounds like a tuesday around here. Hell, throw it in 4wd and Im doing 60 on the freeway with no traffic. Time for you southerners to come on up to Minny Soooda and experience REAL winter driving in my passenger seat. We had school cancelled ONCE while I was in, it was the halloween blizzard of '91. we got 38 inches of snow. We got 20" in one shot this year as well. We are on track to set a snowfall record this year here.

Im with him on this one guys. In michigan you are lucky if school gets canceled at all. I remember getting almost three feet one time and the buses still made it out to the house and picked up the kids. Only half of them made it to the school. So then they canceled it and parents had to drive in to get their kids.

Heck 10 inches to me means that I can take my truck out through the neighborhood and practice drifting on a three mile track, guarentee no one else is out and for three miles no straight parts at all.

The snow isnt the problem, it the inch of ice we usually get before the snow..

You think this will be clear by Friday Cap?

Nope, they changed the forcast and the temps are supposed to be below freezing until Sat. The main roads may be opened up but the side streets will be slick...

here in north texas it is 70 deez-greez year round. never 1 degree up or down, day or night. it's amazing how the temp stays at 70 in my house

On my way home from work and this isn't even the major part of the storm supposedly. it's starting to accumulate a lot faster now. I have heard 2" per hour is what we are supposed to get until at least noon today.

Predicting 12" to 20" over here in Missouri, on top of the ice and sleet. Talking about blizzard conditions with upwards of 40mph winds. MoDot has already said if visibility gets bad enough they'll stop the plow trucks until it clears. Still sleet and a little freezing rain, but the snow will be along here in a bit I'm sure.
My work is cancelled until further notice, so I'm inside for the day. Fond memories of 65 degrees last Friday and Saturday, hammering through the woods on the dirt bike.

The local news just said that we are up to 10" now and visibility is almost nil now

I grew up in the North East. Snow-shmo. I can get where ever I need to get to if there isn't anyone else out on the roads. Problem is most of the folks around here end up running into each other and I end up spend an hour or more sitting on the highway waiting for the wrecks to be cleared. So I don't go out in it.
