old recall notice

cjb4,

This all happened beginning of October 1999 so 3/4 of a year ago and concerned only '99 models up to certain framenumber.

Seeing you're relatively fresh here and that recall long over and done with might explain you not having seen this.

Rotten thing is that recall tensioner still seems to pose problems regularly and this 2nd generation tensioner is the one in ALL Busa's riding around save the ones that have gone to a replacement manual tensioner from the aftermarket.

Yes. Suzuki do this free under waranty.
On the stearing head stem is a little piece of metal with a number stamped on it (the long one with about 13 digits.
Its the last 6 numbers that are important and will tell you if it needs to be seen too.

First of all, lift the fuel tank. On the right hand side, just under the throttle linkage is a metal cylindrical protrusion. If this has 3 pink dots on it, you have the most recent cam chain tension adjuster. If it has either 2 or 1 pink dot, take it to your dealer who will replace it.

Hope this helps

Nuts ;)

I just checked with my dealer and if the last six digits are between 100579-100054 the bike has to be checked. They should have sent you a letter.

(mine was already checked :))
