Do the brocks exhausts include a baffle to reduce noise? If so does it help any?

A Lot of guys prefer them and use them in a ton of performance builds. Can't go wrong with choosing that pipe unless noise is an issue 4 you and or your neighbors. That pipe is particularly loud so just a heads up that if your looking 4 a more subtle sounding exhaust this ain't it. You might not care but your neighbors might when you come home late @ night on your busa
I run the short meg, same pipe different can. You can expect 12 - 15 ponies on the pipe alone with the base map. Absolutely find a great tuner and unleash that ECU for that and maybe 5 - 7 more ponies. Suzuki really detuned the gen II s. Make sure he takes care of those secondary flies, zuki made them extremely lazy. It can be fixed.Good to know. Lots of motorcycles in my area, so a fairly high tolerance for pain. I don't mind loud pipes just to let the blue hairs know I'm around. I just want to know there's a noticeable difference in the performance. I saw a thread about dyno or not to dyno. I figure if I want it truly tuned in; I need to put it on the dyno and do it right. :alien:
Does come with a baffle and sounds great, especially when you wind it up.
I have the Short Meg and performance is the same as the Alien Head except the Short Meg's baffle is removable(which is pretty obnoxious on the street,I've tried it)and the Alien Head's is fixed.
Hmmm. I probably shouldn't look.
use to be on their website 109 dbCan't remember where I read this but I read that the Alien starts off as a Meg but is then compressed into its shape to allow for additional clearance. If they are going through all that trouble, somebody must be scraping. I was planning on emailing them. Not for this question but to see if they have a noise chart (dB) available. I might as well kill two birds with one stone. Thanks.

I’m interested in purchasing a Brock’s exhaust for an 08 Suzuki Hayabusa and was hoping you could help me with some questions.
1. What is the difference between the Alien Head and ShortMeg?
2. What is new with version 2 of these exhausts? (Example: ShortMeg 2 vs ShortMeg and Alien Head vs Alien Head 2)
3. What are the dBs for these?
4. How much noise reduction should I expect with the noise reduction plug?
5. I read somewhere that the Alien Head was designed to provide additional clearance. Does this mean that the ShortMeg would scrape against the pavement during an aggressive lean?
Any help with these questions would be greatly appreciated?
1) The Alien Head has the “alien head†shape and a permanent baffle. The Short Meg, is round and has a baffle that is removable.
2) The Alien Head 2 and Short Meg 2 have larger flanges and a muffler that is 2.25†all the way through, where the original Alien Head and Short Meg, have a muffler that starts at 2.25†and tapers to a 2†exit.
3) The way the we measure the DBs they are approximately 108 DB at 5000 RPM.
4) Noise Reduction Plug on those pipes with reduce the DB about 2-4.
5) I have never heard of anyone having cornering clearance issues with the Short Meg, but if you are at a road racing style track and you are laying the bike pretty much on its side in the corners, it could be possible to scrape.
I hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks,
Steve
Steve,
Thanks for the help. One last question.
Is there a performance or noise (dB) difference between versions 1&2 (Example: Shortmeg 1 vs Shortmeg 2)?
http://www.brocksperformance.com/images/Busa_AH_2_Pipe_Dyno_Comparison_Zoom.jpg
About 2 hp difference between the 1 and 2 on a stock motor Busa. DB level is very close, the 2 is probably a tiny bit quieter because it has a slightly larger muffler.
Thanks,
Steve
