Opinions on the impending Govt shutdown?

I am waiting to vote for Trump. We need business man in office, not another politician.
I'm not so sure how much it sux for them. Last time there was a shut down (1995 I think), a good friend of mine who works for the SSI office got back pay for the days they were off. Whether or not they worked and if they took vacation days for that time, they got those days added back to their vacation time.
Will that happen this time? I dont now, but it might.

Some Senators have vowed that won't happen again.
I would bet that none of our Senators lose any pay.

I am a gov't contractor but safe. What burns me even more is that the poor guy getting shot at in the sandbox will not be paid

Trump's been bankrupt enough times that he knows a lot about it, I'll give him that, but otherwise he's not electable IMHO. I would not vote for him.
Congress (led by Barbara Boxer) already passed an amendment that keep their pay coming. What's good for the goose....
Once again, Congress proves they think they are somehow better than 'regular' people. Military still get's paid; suspect contracts (contractors) don't. Doesn't mean contractors still don't have legal obligation under employment law to pay their employees. That's the nature of military contracts, and those accepting them should have their heads examined if they didn't know that.
I still say shut the bioch down, if that's what it freakin' takes to start bringing some fiscal responsibility back.

Well, when you put it that way, I guess he IS the least of those two evils. God help us if our country is so messed up it comes down to THAT.
TO REALITY...
They are going to shut down the Gov't over what amounts to a disagreement because the Reps want 1% of the budget more I'm cuts than the Dems. What happened to the Gov't having to live within it's means that Obama spit out during the State of the Union Address. They need to be cutting alot deeper. Maybe if they are shut down long enough, we can shrink it down to where it should be based on the Constitution.

Easy to do that when your gov salary is just pocket change. They get their real money from other places, so it won't hurt them like the people that truely depend on their paychecks.
I posted about this about a week ago but specifically touched on the military pay stopping. I am active duty military and do not see how it is right that they expect us to protect their way of life and their pay, and they cannot decide on a budget to pay us.
I will be fine for a month or however long it lasts, but there are a lot of younger troops out there that will not be. Just pisses me off to no end to answer your question.

way I see it is we revamp butfor real what needs to change not convoluted by fine print and BS. That and open the books really what are we spending on seriously lets tak an uncommon sense approach to this and I call it that because if it was common then everyone would use it.
