Not really, I didn’t feel a thing. Watching the procedure is really an experience though. Some months back I had a spot there and the Dr cut it off for a biopsy. The results were skin cancer so this time the Dr took far more ‘material’ than the actual cancer spot. Lousy stitcher though huh?

Do you feel this has something to do with motorcycle riding or are you an ATGATT kind of rider which helps protect from the sun as well.

ATGATT. I always wear a sleeve when I ride plus I’ve always been an easy burner instead of an easy tanner. Nothing to do with motorcycling. The doctor could sure take lessons on how to stitch huh? Its bandaged now but looking at the pic I can see the stitches look pretty sad. He musta figured I was a non-com.

Yeah, he’s definitely no plastic surgeon but, what matters is that he removed everything. That scar will make for good conversation starter in the future I’m sure.

You are lucky that yours was on your arm instead of your nose like mine was. They did MOHS surgery on it and cut a lot of skin off. When they got done cutting, it felt like I had been punched in the nose for the next few days. Then I had to have the inside of my nose reconstructed so that I could breathe out of that side of my nose, which was almost as bad as the first surgery. That was Basal cell carcinoma.
I also had Squamous cell carcinoma on my cheek and they cut about a half dollar size slice out of it and stitched it back together. I'm amazed at how well the scar healed.

I have two strikes against me. Having blue eyes and being light complected.

Blue eyes and no tan here too but my nose has been thru it three times, one, right on the tip. I’ve had from one to three stitches on it but thankfully very little material was removed. Luckily I’m a hermit so pretty much no one saw me. :) They sent me home with a stitch removal kit, scissors and tweezers. That’s in two weeks.

That does not sound fun at all so, hopefully my dark skin help avoid having to go through some of that painful process(?).

@WuzzaCBXRider what clues did your "spot" give you to make you question it? What should the rest of us be looking for?

A dime sized spot literally occurred overnight. Thought it might be a spider bite. Since I’d already had three tiny spots on my nose removed I made an appointment with a dermatologist who, just by looking at it thought it was cancer so he sliced it off for a biopsy. Results were cancer so he took more than just the spot. Just have any suspicious spot looked at right away.

Take a good look all over. It doesn’t have to only appear on exposed areas. Early detection is key, just ask my lung.
Hi. I hope everthing works out for the best. I just went to the doc and every thing fine just a little hight blood presure. My girl friend went to her doc for tests as she has been getting pain in her belly. It came back as a tumor that is canccerous. So here we go to more doc's. He mother died of cancer at 42.
