It is actually a Boz Bros. Moira exhaust system. It is a 4-2-1 system. I love the sound, the look , and the weight reduction. But....it is definitely over-priced. Goy off my lazy ass yesterday and removed the warning stickers and took it for it's first ride since the exhaust, paint, and other mods. Definitely investing in a Power Commander and custom map. Coming off the throttle it pops worse than a Harley, but overall am satisfied. Oh will also be investing in some new aftermarket mirrors. It drove me crazy not being able to see behind me. Don't know how some of you guys can ride with no mirrors. Well enough gabbing, got to check on the turkey. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving.(dadofthree @ Nov. 22 2006,13:29)I wasn't going to ask, but what kind of pipe is that?(extreemachine @ Nov. 19 2006,18) I love it!! Black on Black!! Here is the link to the 3m website. http://products3.3m.com/catalog....ut_html It comes with a caryying case, buffing cloth, and buffing pad. As well as the three bottles of compund. The name of the kit is 3M Perfect-It 3000 Ultrafina Kit Part# 06052. I used PPG paint code MBC4669. They used some sort of calibrated machine to analyze the paint off my rear seat cowl in order to match the paint, believe it or not the color it came up with was "black"...LOL..so it should match Color Rite's black pretty close. Let me know if you need any more info. Will be glad to help. I even have the cumulative parts for mixing the paint.(DonnieF @ Nov. 25 2006,21:48) Griff
What is this 3M kit that leaves no swirl marks? Also what kind of paint did you use? Looks very nice , great job......
PPG paint code MBC4669. Honestly it was more the wet sanding and buffing after painting than the paint itself. Actually was the first time I used PPG paint from the auto store around the corner. I was a little sceptical, but it flowed very well using a medium reducer in about 60-70 degree weather. I will definitely use PPG more often...was CHEAP too!!!(321CYA @ Nov. 26 2006,06:51) I know the color is Black, but what is the paint code...Because that is off the HOOK.....
Donnie, all you need is a quart of paint. Reducer for the paint according to air temperature. Should mix 1 to 1. I used a quart of clear and two pints of hardener. The clear should pretty much mix almost 1 to 1, the clear does not need reducer. No flex additive needed since most basecoat clears are urethane. Let me know if that answered you questions or not. I used to paint and body for a living a long long time ago. Now I just do it every now and then for myself.(DonnieF @ Nov. 26 2006,14:49) Griff
I love PPG , i also like House of Kolor but we all know its expensive as hell. I have a couple of those 3m waffle buffing pads and now i will have to try the 3m compounds. I have never painted a bike before , just hotrods and race cars im interested in knowing what catalyst and additives are needed , do you use flex additive ect.?
Im not a professional painter but i love to do my own cars and i have won a couple of shows with some and i can tell you put some serious color sanding/wet sanding time into those plastics.
