Painting wheels...

I'm going to paint my wheels. Saw it on another bike, and liked it alot!!!!


I've done alot of professional painting around 10 years ago. I'm pretty sure I will do fine.. but if anybody has done them recently and has any advice, I'm open to it.





heres a pic of a 8.50 @ 173mph bike that has the look I'm going for:

powder coat.....when done right, it can look even better than paint...and last better.
for now I have to make due with the sliver rims off smithbusa's bike...
but eventually, this is the look I am going to get for mine....SO WEEEET!

I can paint the rims for practicly nothing.... budget racer here.

Chris-o-matic, Paint would be ok, but powdercoat would be tuffer. They have also been color chroming the last few years looks schweet! Are u goin with a single front rotor too? Looks good but I like a lil more brakes than that @ 173 mph!

ahhh...but you see... throw a few jobs their way by virtue of advertising on your site...and you too can get it done for nil.

just like anything else...prep work is the most costly. Get it done before you take them in....and the price drops considerably.

I think I had my entire 91 gsxr frame and and swingarm powder coated black for under 200.00 (back in 95')

that's a 91 frame with 93 & 95 forks / swingarm / wheels.

Now you know where suzuki got the idea for the powder coating on the LE models.

They have also been color chroming the last few years ...

that's what those wheels are, I do believe....
A chromed layer then powder coated over with a pearl clear.

supposed to reflect more light....

You better off getting them powder coated gloss blue instead of painting them,they will last longer and its less work.
