Passenger foot pegs

While cleaning up my bike after a ride yesterday, I noticed a problem with both passenger foot pegs.  I bought this bike used and the previous owner had that plastic chrome frame covering stuff on it.  I didn't like it so I had him remove it before I picked the bike up.

Anyway, yesterday was the first ride I took that was longer than a short 10 miles to/from work trip.

This is what the rear pegs looked like.

I pushed the retaining pin back in...

I can only assume that there should be a c clip or something holding the rear pin in place.  However, as you can see by the pics, there is no place for a clip.  

Can someone help me out with this?  Maybe a pic of what it should look like.

Don't have a pic but there should be a "C" clip groove on the end of the pin and a "C" Clip in it. Until you can round one up ( try Lowes in the specialty hardware trays) a 1/4" bolt two flat washers and a lock nut will suffice.

It doesn't look like the right pin. I just looked at mine and they extend out a good bit and there is a nice groove near the end of them for the C clip.

Yep, pin should extend out further, then terminated with a "C" clip. Heres mine.

Looks like the previous owner cut the pins so the chrome cover would fit

I have a set of pins and clips that you can have, we're only about 40 miles apart...I'll pm ya my #

Heh, I forgot the busa had passenger footpags. Been so long since I reomved them for my HMF high mounts.
