Pawn Stars Hayabusa

I really like the one about the antique pistol! That guy threw a huge fit when he found out he got hustled.

I would have to agree. I started visiting the local ones here in Macon after my home was burglarized. They may help some people who are down on their luck, but I would call it "preying" on those people. Everything in a pawn shop is either stolen or stolen, right?

Its no more preying than a car lot. You don't have to sell anythting to them if you don't want to. If your goods are worth so much more go down the road and sell them for retail.

I don't agree with the ones that buy stolen stuff knowingly and hide it.

well said. if you do not have the self control to get the most money for your item than it is your own fault. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that selling an item at a pawn shop will bring less than wholesale so they can resell it for a profit! thats their business!

Plus if anyone really watches the show there have been times where the customer was interviewed prior to going inside and saying they wanted far less that they were offered after one of the house experts examined and appraised the item.

Your have to love the mentality of "im in debt cause the credit card company kept sending me cards", or "im a drunk cause there is a liquor store on the corner". It is time we man up and take responsibility for our own actions.

SUMMARY...

IF YOU WANT TOP DOLLAR DONT SELL YOUR S H I T AT A PAWNSHOP!!!!!!

Our local pawn shop went out of business about 6 or 7mths ago and I was not surprised. I went there for a ar15 lower transfer and he refused to do the transfer. I had to drive over 70 miles to Raleigh to give a gun shop $30 to have my lower ship to them! I have no sympathy the locals here at all.

I once got over on a pawn shop where I came out making $50 versus losing $100. Good times!

Many of those shows are rigged for camera stuff. Same with Repo Man, New Jersey Arses comes to mind. Wardie

While I agree with your basic point. It doesn't fit the criteria for every pawn shop customer.
Lets take into consideration the people that are suffering from the current economy right now. Say you've been laid off and you have no choice but to pawn "your shid" as you put it, just to put food on the table or keep the lights on. The whole experience of it is just awful, and knowing that your getting bent over the barrel just makes it worse. Happy to be past it....but yes, I've been there.
The pawn shop could care less of your situation,... yeah...they're a business I get it.
A business that ranks right up there with towing company's IMO.

yeah i watched it too, i about feel off the couch....(i built it to go 250mph) fastest bike in vegas:rofl:...probably wasn't even worth the 8 k they paid for it sadly...bt still a busa so

OH YOU LEFT OUT THE BEST PART
the guy selling the bike said he had to because he was going away for a year...didnt say where but Im betting it was jail

i worked at a pawn shop, and despite what you think you know about the business...here are some facts:

1. most of the stuff is not stolen, to sell or take a loan all customers must have legal ID, and give thumb print....most thieves would rather sell out thier trunk than give a thumbprint and be connected to stolen goods.

2. detectives regularly drop in to ask for specific items, if your wifes wedding ring was stolen and you reported it to the cops....they most likely hit the local pawn shops looking for it.

3. used stuff, sells for roughly half what new stuff sells for...just because you paid $1k for it...does not mean its worth $1k or that they can sell it for anything near that.

4. the worst rip off is jewelry....if you guys had any idea what diamond cost wholesale...you would never go to a jewelry store. that $1k ring you bought your girl is probably worth $75 wholesale.

i have seen people get over on the pawn shop...but that is rare. most of those guys have to be pretty sharp.

Does the bike even run? The guy could have pushed it up there!!! Good thing they check everything out.....They act like they never seen a busa lol

lol, i love watching that show, they get some weird crap some times... but its about as scripted as it gets some times....

8k.... might drive my bike over there and see what they give me HAHAHA..

So I guess anyone who is down on their luck and needs a few dollars is a worthless piece of poo huh? Guess I will just send them your way next time they need a loan since apparently your a fortune 500 banker :poke:

Anyway I just seen this I have to say I have no respect for the pawnstar idiots nor the squid on the busa

That pretty much sums it up man and to add that we have a near 75% rate of return
