Performance gains with stacks

Frank I`m running short stacks in airbox with no filter...really comes alive. If you need to ride a lot no big deal ...just raise tank and change to lid with filter...will be a little rich but its fine. And before some one asks ...no I didn`t dyno it just raced my other busa to verify what I felt...yes it works!!!

Here is some info about how velocity stacks improve your busa so you can do the mods yourself if you fear the greenie. All testing was done with a Dynojet 250.
First i maked some new 50mm long stacks in the lathe, then I dynoed the bike with the stock stacks and the airbox removed for a baseline. After that i put the 50mm stacks and dynoed them, went to the lathe and cut them down 5mm between every dynorun so I ended with 10mm long stacks.
I gained 4hp with the best stacks (25mm long) and I did lose some hp with the worst.
So to use the airbox I maked new sealed 25mms stacks and put the bike on the dyno again to confirm the results and it showed that the new stacks worked great with no dips in the power curve and a power gain at top with 4hp.
Conclusion: stacks is a easy way to gain some hp but the lenght(25mm) worked best for my bike wich is not stock (ported, skimmed, and a true 4-1 -am I the only one out here with a true 4-1?)

no...i have one on my bike

when you were making your changes, did you make any adjustments with your map settings?

and are you saying that you ended up with these stacks inside your airbox?

also, did you try to a test with a sealed airbox & no filter? (with dialing for more fuel)remapped

reason i'm asking, the stock air filter really chokes this motor for air.

another thing is, if you did put your 25mm stacks inside your airbox and your best gain was 4hp after dialing the map settings, your now going to need to richen the bike up for ramair....

big mistake alot of guys are doing is looking for the most hp with the bike sitting on the dyno and not taking the ramair into consideration.

just something to think about...
