Folks-

I finally got Hi-speed internet again, so I am posting finally after several months of dial up. ( To tedious to wait on the dial up now that most folks are adding images etc.)

I need your expertise. My 2004 is still a baby, with just under 4k.( Yeah I know, but blame my work schedule.) Anyway...I have not been able to afford too many significant mods, but I cannot help but wonder if my Busa is lacking something.

I read all about the eye flattening blasting speed and power that I am supposed to have, and I just don't feel it. I have owned several bikes over the years, and recognized the Busa as the pinnacle, but it just doesn't "git" like I think it should.

Right now, I swapped back to 17/42 gearing as I did not care for the amount of engine brake the 16T front gave. So...It is all stock, except for the 2 teeth in the rear, the TRE, Devil pipe Carbon fiber slip ons, and the marble mod.

It runs fair, always starts with no choke, stumbles a little @ an idle, and runs the best in the cooler air. So...nothing apparently wrong. But...like I said, I could see a strong ZX10 or CBR1000 pulling her if the opportunity arose. I may be wrong, but it just doesn't feel that wicked while riding.

Anybody have ANY suggestions or thoughts???

Thanks-

Corso

Maybe ditch the TRE. My 03 never did run right with it. Took it off and she woke up again.

You seem a little uncertain about it so I would suggest you have it dyno'd.

That is somewhat the beauty of the bike. Smooth power delivery across the entire rev range. No huge wicked spots of acceleration, just plain 'ol gettin' down to business.. It's probably faster than you think, twist the wrist man!!

Find someone near you to Dyno tune it.

I'm sure these members can suggest someone in Ohio..

Good luck, keep us up dated

For starters download this by right clicking. I would recommend inspecting your throttle body syn'c, TPS adjustment, air filter and so on, its all in the manual.   In addition after  making your adjustment you  could buy a PCIII USB from Brock Davidson (located locally in Dayton on Dorthy Lane) supplied with various close to perfect maps depending on you aftermarker application or just a plain stock bike. You could even have Brock tune it (Dyno) for ya.
If your still experiencing that no wow experience, take yourself to the nearst Urgent Care facility and have your wrist examined for carpel tunnel syndrome

.

Cuz the Busa should get down and boogie on demand.

P.S. The ZX10 aint no Joke but in the end you should be able to wipe your a55 with him if you know how to pick your gears and twist your wrist !!!

They've beat me to it, but the Busa is super fast and super smooth. The dyno is a good suggestion, especially with a tune considering the mods from stock.

+1 Start with a Dyno run to see that it is making the HP that it should...about $40 and you will have a baseline

Thanks fellas. I suppose the Dyno is the best solution. My friends think I am sick in the head, and I do realize that the delivery is "supposed" to be liquid smooth on the Busa. I guess I just need to tune it a bit harder.
I did get a chance to read the post about Sync on the Throttle bodies. That may be a good start as well.

As always...my appreciation.
