The kickstand mod is a smart one to do. The bike is much better planted after it's done. One suggestion, if you do the notch alittle deeper than what is shown in the How-to your bike will still have a lean to it when lowered.

When I drove it home, I believe it was about 375 miles. I hadnt ridden in ten years so it was challenging. The ride through Amish country was cool. Passed a couple horse and buggies.
