Still waiting on warranty company to see if they are going to cover the damage/rebuild/engine replacement. I have decided that I will only call the shop once a week as not to pester them too much since they hold my financial fate in their hands...

dayum! that sucks. Reminds me of my 2001 Mustang GT.. except there was no worries about warranty work. I was boostin...

was a bad deal none the less, especially with 13k on the clock.

Ouch-- painful pic's-----that rod just siezed to the crank--- blammo. Interesting to know why...
like hard on the brakes----high rev's and downshifting? 1/2 quart low on oil

Trippy that the rod had time to turn so blue....went a few rev's to generate all that heat.......could you tell something was going on before she blew? speed run and on the gas???

I do not know what happened. We had been takin' it easy all day...each of us leading our own pack of Noobs on a group ride. Sticking right to the speed limit. At the end of the day, we were heading home after seeing all the Newbies off and while rolling through 9k rpm in 3rd gear, the bike just stopped accelerating, a second later the engine cuts out, a second later, big 007 smoke screen and she was done! No hi revving downshifts, no oil pressure indicator light, I did not check the oil that day, but have been geting it changed regularly by the same shop that has it now, same shop that sold it to me. I will have some sort of update tomorrow. It's Thursday!! I get to call!! Woo Hoo!!

Ohhhhhhh Dave, that turns my stomach. Man I hope they cover it for ya and replace it. Nothing like a new engine :o) Lemme know if ya need any help.
