is most functional... you move the CG lower and further inside the corner the bike can sit more upright.. if the bike is more upright, you have more cornering available.. (and the bike is more stable)
RacerV is has 1" chicken strips on his tires and he can outrun I bet 98% of the riders on this board.. he hangs way off the bike, carries a ton of speed and the bike has a good amount of reserve left.. Takes good physical agility for these guys to hang off the bikesand it looks good
Twist of the wrist 2 has a lot of good reading about it all...
I have barely perceptable chicken strips and only slightly shift my upper body into a corner.
I think using more of my gray matter to think about braking, line, and getting a good drive out of the corner and less about climbing around on the bike is the better deal, at least on the street.
I followed a guy on a 750 Gixxer on Rte 519 in NJ that was making a huge production out of hanging off. I started mocking him from behind (he didn't see me, he was way too involved
) than sat up with only the throttle hand on the bars and kept up. Cracked my buddies up.

I used to think there was something mysterious and etheral about riders that were capable of draggin' a knee on the pavement. As if they were some sort of higher echelon rider far superior than the rest of us. Balls of steel.
Then I actually got it in my head to try it myself (new leathers with pucks will do that). Took couple thousand miles to get used to the sensation but once you get used to the body position and being smooth, it's quite fun. Another dimension to riding you might say.
And somebody fire that idiot sales pud. Who are these people? ???

I need a few good picture of some knee draggers on Busas.
I know there was one of V-man dragging big time but I didn't save it.
Was in the bikeshop today and an Elder gentleman (and I mean Elder)
was looking at a '08 busa saying how he used to have a honda
CBF1100 and how it handled so well. The sales pud told him the busa
doesn't handle that well, on par with a cruiser
Guy moved on and starting talking to another sales guy who stopped me
and asked "you ride a busa, how do you think it handles". I told him
sales pud #1 doesn't know what he's talking about and I've got pictures
of guys draggin knees on busas, I'll e-mail him one.
The busa will do what it's rider will ask and the biggest limitiation on
handling is it's rider.
Hilarious the amount of cruiser riders that think a 1800cc cruiser is faster than a 1300cc sportbike. Last time I checked AMA, MotoGp and WSBK didn't have a class for racing cruisers... I wonder why, LoL...
Show him the photos, Hilarious... Busas also share the same geometry as the gsxr1000... I'll post my transparent Busa and GSXR images some time, not much difference...
No need to apologize bro. It's very cool that you have those photos. anyways, the #2 photo is BigO at Willow Springs' Turn 4B. The one with Charlesbusa was from Reno/Fernley this past August. I remember being at the photographer's trailer and how much he loved that pic, EXCEPT it was a little out of focus. I kept tellin' him, "bro!!! It's all about the spirit!" He got the poster AND the 2 day CD. I already miss those dayz! :cry:

Thanx for posting those Lou!! THAT WAS SUCH A MEMORABLE WEEKEND AND I'M GLAD THAT I WAS ABLE TO SHARE SOME OF THOSE MEMORIES WITH YOU AND NAN! We really missed you at MMP 08! Those were some good times to be had as well. The group seemed a little smaller than 07, but was still fun nonetheless. I look forward to meeting up with you at the track someday.
Oh, trust me, we'll get on a track again sometime and we'll make sure you're invited at the very least!

And we really missed the breakfast!!! That was definitely one of the best highlights of 07MMP. I had to resort to drinking my pond scum mix-energy-green-slimey stuff to help me get by for 08MMP. I'll take your wiff's breakfast anytime.
