Pilot Powers and flexing , is this tire really

I guess I might as well chime in here by saying....the rumors about Pilot Powers "Being Squirmy" is utter BS..but here's the deal...the GP derived rubber compound is 6% softer than any other make of tire in it's class hence it's absolute awesome levels of traction which btw include a "Wet Rating" of "5" (the highest wet performance rating michelin offers) along with a stunning "Lean Angle Traction Rating" of "50deg. dry/41.9deg wet"....and now here's the skinny on the squirmy rumors...

Because the Pilot Powers are made of such a soft (yet durable) compound?...they do like their psi....as a matter of fact they DEMAND it...and if you strat playing "The Soft Air Pressure For Better Traction" game they will become squirmy feeling as now you are running both light air pressure and a super soft compound....not good...and they'll letcha know when your air pressure is a tad low and do so right away...with...a squirmy feeling.....due to the combination of both light air pressure and super soft compound...however..I've found that if you keep the rear in the 40-42psi range and the front in the 39-41psi range?...you'll find you get great feed-back and levels of confidence you've never had in any other street going tires you ever rolled on....cause they stick to the road like a freaking electromagnet at just about any lean angle any immortal has the nads to hit.

But run anything less than 38psi in the rear and 36psi in the front and it's....welcome to squirm city....and that's where the rumors come from...guys who don't check and/or purposfully run....low air pressure.....thinking it's giving them better traction....such as at "track days"...but keep the AP right and tight?...and you'll be taking corners like something out of toon town...with confidence and more traction at greater lean angles than your mind will be willing to accept.

JINKSTER said it Best.......
I love my Pilot Powers........
But they need there Pressure!!!!!
I think they are the Best feeling tire I have ever had under me!

Again, some of you guys can't be riding busa's. I don't care what kind of tires you are running, the Busa is a tire eater plain and simple. I don't drag race or do track days and I only get 2,500-3,000 miles out or the rear. I do use the gas in the corners on mountain roads. What a rush. I am also running the Pilot Powers and they without doubt are the best tires I have ever used. They will give you all of the confidence in the world. Although, My first set I had bad front tire and  had to send it back for a new one. The second one  I had to take it back off the bike and take it down to get it balanced. I called Michelin and their tech told me that they do not use a balancing mark for their tires to line up with the valve stem. So I'm now in the habit of getting at least the front balanced. I've always changed my own tires and used that mark on other brand of tires without any problems until now. And I'm talking about doing 150+mph. Any body else had this problem?

I dont ride as hard as Charles, but I have been known to scrape my boots & pegs ... I got over 5k out of the rear recently swapped it for another one

1 excellent tire! I break the rear loose on the straights sometimes but have never in the turns. Front now has about 6 k on it and still going strong. My 208's I would get about 3K only. Pirelli Diablo I only got 1800 and it was done.

The Pilot Powers are the best tires I've ridden on in twenty years IMO. They corner like a mother!!!! You won't be sorry you purchased them
