This is the first Chic Rider to pass away since the founding of the club in January of 2007. She was from the Pennsylvania Chapter
"Lynsley Irene McKee Vickers, born Jan. 13, 1981, died suddenly on July 11, 2008, doing one of the things she loved best, riding her motorcycle.
She was born in West Chester, the beloved daughter of Patricia Irene McKee (nee Folchman) of Malvern and Robert Bruce McKee of Florida.
Lynsley went to Great Valley High School and was a graduate of Delaware County Community College's Police Academy, graduating fourth in her class.
This lively woman worked in a variety of capacities over her short life, engaging in each with enthusiasm, including driving a school bus, providing security at the Limerick power plant, and most recently as a server at the Fox and Hound in King of Prussia. She was continuing to work on her long-standing goal of serving with the police force.
Lynsley loved her motorcycle and riding with friends. She had a diverse and deep social network, extending well beyond her roots in Malvern. She never missed the Philadelphia Folk Festival and was an active and enthusiastic volunteer. She was adamant about having a good time and enjoying life to its fullest, whether spending time with family, dancing, snowboarding, listening to music, a quiet night with friends, or persuading her grandfather to get his snowmobiles out.
Her greatest joy and biggest sense of accomplishment, however, was her young son, Laine Jaxson Swenson.
She is survived, in addition to her son, by her sister, Morgan McKee Mendez, her husband, Jose, and their two children, Ayden Benito and Sofia Isabella; her brother Robert (Robbie) Erin McKee; her maternal grandparents, Norman Folchman Sr. and his partner, Elizabeth (Betty) Yarnall, and Pearl Johnson (nee McMullen); paternal grandparents, John (Jack) and Patricia McKee; and numerous adoring aunts, uncles and cousins. Her childhood sweetheart, Sean Vickers, remained an important part of her life.
Relatives and friends may share in Lynsley's Life Celebration Service at the Mauger-Givnish Funeral Home, 24 Monument Ave., Malvern, on Tuesday, July 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, July 16, from noon to 2 p.m., with the service beginning at 2 p.m.
All are invited to a celebration of her life at the Malvern Fire House on Wednesday, July 16, after the service.
There will be a memorial ride through Valley Forge National Historical Park after the service on Wednesday (see www.NEsportbikes.com for more info), open to anyone who wants to go on one last ride with Lynsley. It will end at the firehouse.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted for the care and education for her son, Laine, in care of Pat McKee."
