Tim, do you know if there’s a paved road all the way over the southern Sierras east of Huntington Lake coming out around Sheelite, or Aspendell on 168 and ultimately 395 near West Bishop?

Hi wuz - nope. Only paved road over the Sierra in that region is Hwy 120 Tioga Pass through Yosemite NP.

Then next paved road over the Sierra is Kennedy Meadows to Nine Mile Canyon. Then Hwy 178 above Lake Isabella.

Kings Canyon. Huntington Lake, Shaver Lake, all dead end roads.

That's too bad. On Google maps it looked like there was possibly some kind of road (two maybe) even a forest road that eventually hooked up with 395. I think my new Z900RS wouldn't be too bad on a dirt road if not too long and tiring and if, it was really a road that found its way to pavement!

You're right, only someone who is not in a good frame of mind would ride on dirt roads. I know a guy name Tim like that.

Not counting the many construction zones, I've only ridden a few but the paved roads leading to them and after them were worth it. Still though, I much prefer pavement.
