Power Commander?

Thanks JC,
I'm told you're the one who would know if anyone. I have to say I'm pretty happy w/ everything stock. The only reason I can come up with to go faster is I'd like to join the 200 mph club down at Maxton. I'm 170 lbs and 5'7" so that will help. I've read about others who have tried but they're all much bigger guys (fat asses) ;-)

This is what I am thinking of doing also. Cant' afford the combo right now, the PC sounds like a good place to start.

I notice you already have a TRE.

I guess my questions are more for the tuners.... Does the PC eliminate the need for the TRE? Is the maps different if you are using a TRE in conjunction with the PC?

If your bike is stock, just leave it alone. Your not going to get any results that will be worth the money. Now if you get an aftermarket exhaust/air box mods then it'd be worth it. But not stock, save your money for gas

you should wait on the pc til you get an exhasut that way you dont have to pay for another custom session at 300 bucks a pop it can get steep
Sorry, but I wouldn't wait till your ready to buy an exhaust. Buy the power commander first, run it with a stock map and then you don't have to come up with so many bones when you buy the exhaust. IMHO
Dont know its still money spent that isnt doing anything for you so you spend 250 for what? nothing. Why not wait and get everything at once. Seems like buying a pc from someone but not getting it shipped til you have an exhaust, yeah you've paid your money but your not getting any gains from the money you spent. Save the money and get everything at once and if you decide to go hindle they have a package deal i think

Yea I just called my mechanic. He was pretty animate about not using the PC on a busa. After considering all the pros and cons I think I’ll go w/ Yoshi’s front to back and skip the PC. He said he did it on his and got 162 hp at the rear wheel. Not sure what I’m getting stock. Never been on a dyno.

If I am not mistaken a Yoshimura EMS is a PCIIIr and PCIIIusb combined as well as their new Cube Hmmmm!!!

Yea well the only part that is confusing is that he could make another $300 if he wanted to sell me on the PC. I'm the kind that just because everyone uses something isn't enough. I need to see the #'s.

I guess this just comes down to pocket book size. I seldom have the money just laying around to get things exactly when I want them. I usually have to save for a few months before I make a purchase. It is easier for me to buy things as I go. If you got a big wad by all means spend it. I noticed a difference in throttle responce and smoothness with a stock bike and a good map from Johnnycheese so in the end it was worth it to me.

That makes sense JC.

Dang, just dropped my bike. I knew this was going to happen! No worries. Just a little scratch on the decal and bent pride. Something snapped in my rib cage (pulled something) when I stopped short/put my leg down and I just lost it. #### hurts though. This getting old sux!

If you don't have frame sliders on your bike, spend some money on those first.

let me throw this in the werks...lot's of shops have dynos.
so should we only patron those listed on the PC website for tuners that are trained? Or what? I know of some really good tuners that aren't listed.
It reall bites me, cause the one shop listed local to me is a harley (mostly) and dragbike shop that I used to work at....and the owner's wife is a biotch to deal with. ARGH!!! It's been 8 years, and I still want to choke her!

JC...your shop is only a few miles from where my parents live....hmmm that might be another excuse to go see dad on father's day. lol it's just about 800+ miles...that's all.

I have said from day one you look for a good tuner.
WHY?
rock.gif

because to get on the list at Dynojet all you do is buy a dyno and pay them $500.00 and sit in class for 2 days and then you are a tuning center

ps seeing your parents is always a nice thing to do, I want to cali to se mine at xmas

Johnny nice to see ya, I take it you've been busy.

Have you seen anything on the new Yosh EMS Cube? just wondering what your thoughts were.
