What do you guys think of instituting a "rule" that in order for someone to make a post in the "for sale" section....they first must be a donating member...?

Such evidence would be provided by your avitar anyways...and it helps us all out in little ways.

I for one am tired of all the <20 post people that come in and offer their parts for amazing prices...stock exhausts for example = hundreds of $$$? not.
other people that come in with used turbos...nitrous....etc...and all those chrome parts that seem to get posted over and over and over.
The LEAST we all could do is be a donating member to qualify for making such posts.

Many of us have been donating flats amounts and then a percentage of our sales for quite some time....it would be nice to see a similar effort from those who stand to gain from an otherwise free BB.

My only prerequisite would be that it can't already be posted on E-bay. It really tee's me off when I see a post for Busa parts where the seller has already put them up on E-bay. If you want to help board members out, then help them out, otherwise, we'll find you E-bay crap on our own.

Thing is...it works both ways.

Some turd gets doped up an' crashes his Busa during week one and wants to sell parts cheap to the bruva's an' sista's....

I see your point which is why I chose donation/fee in my post. I have to admit, I get tired of people who register on the site, just to sell stuff and then get upset because people don't have complete trust and confidence in them. All I am saying is that maybe there should be some sort of deterant for those sorts of people... registering just to peddle thier wares...
Maybe I'm off base, wouldn't be the first time....

I was thinking more along the lines of the donation that get you the "swirling balls" as some seem to call'em.

It's not a major thing......and you get to post as much as you like.
As for donating everytime you sell something....that's your concious talkin to you....if you don't hear it...then enuf said.

Mandating a fee everytime a sale thread is posted would be tiresome to track....but if you have the avitar...then post away... if not...it gets dumped.

thing is...how is it moderated..a timing thing,a post count, a blah blah blah.

most of the boys on here are smart and skeptical,cautious,and weary already.

i tossed a couple scammers last week.

Besides,the boys kinda like the one-time peddlers, they provide comic relief.

It`s always someone pulling their scams on public board...

Little price we pay for fredom of speech....

i`d say look at another boards...

tlplanet not allowed anyone with post count less then 50 to eather wanted or for sale treads.

many other boards posting a trader feedback and/or soul feedback.

I dunno how difficult to setup those features here... It`s up to the Captain.

i feel much more charitable when there's
not a reason to be charitable... i've been impressed
by the members who stood up to help recently... i intend
to keep giving... but i don't expect everyone to
feel the same way, nor do i want to impose rules
on anybody when it comes to money.

i visit some other sites that do have rules, and watch
the posting-police come out ... it feels awkward when
they flag violations -- doesn't have that feeling of
helping-each-other-out.

i think that's what i like about -here- ... the peeps
here genuinely seem to want to help each other.
i, for one, wouldn't want to be responsible for deciding
what is alright and what is not... i think its tough already,
and would get tons tougher if there were
strict guidelines....

Hard subject you've chosen here BC. I agree with you and I disagree with you. I guess we have to put up with the occasional scammer ( how many here on the board have actually been taken by one of these guys i wonder ) but we seem to get to them quickly and expose them for what they are. They fail to realize that we have active members no matter where they say they are from and the members ALWAYS make themselves available to drive by and witness items in person. that usually kills teh thread right there. Heck, i did that two or three days ago and guess what...no contact and the thread has died a slow and painful death. We do a pretty dang good job of self moderation and protection around here. i like it this way.
