Projekt's Catastrophy

Left side view. I'll probably need a new 4-2-1 if I fix it, due to the wheel being so close to the engine case.

Right side of bike. Here you can see the leaking oil all over the panels. Can't determine whether the oil cooler was punctured or the lines where pinched off.

That really does look bad! Again, glad you were able to walk away from it. I'm not sure I would want to try to fix that one up. Might be easier to get a new one.

Wow man those pics look scary ... I'd say you're one lucky man not to be injured any worse. Glad you're still around to tell us the story.

Happy to see that you walked away, that bike is totalled by the looks of things.
I hope insurance companies over there are decent.

Can you sue him or something, sounds as if no one thinks he gets anything. Does that dudes insurance not have to pay, CAN'T YOU BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF HIM. Anything. I would be so pIs$ed off.

After filing the insurance claim yesterday, I will allow my agent to battle it out with his insurer. You must have a compulsory liability policy in order to register a car in this country. His policy number and agent where noted on the police report. Both the Srpska (Serb) police and Italian Carabinieri MPs ruled him at fault. That was obvious upon arriving at the scene. I have been told "good luck collecting" but will have to cross my fingers and will definitely get paid. The worst thing is not the accident, instead the lack of being able to ride the bike in this weather as well as bypass traffic jams by splitting lanes.
The legal system in this country is in shambles, getting a legal settlement is not as simple as within the sue happy United States.  Lawsuits take months, even years to reach a courtroom. Even if I did sue I doubt that the man's entire networth would equal the replacement value of the Busa.
I am in a visible position because of the organization I work for. Therefore, if I did follow my first impulse to pull him out of the car and beat him senseless in front of his wife and arriving onlookers I would have probably been hastily jettisoned by this country due to an "International Incident". It was tempting though. After all, I am just another nice guy behind all of that leather and ass kicking appearance.

Sorry to hear that bro, but on a much brighter note at least you walked away so you have much for which to be thankful. I'm wondering when the gov is going to start cracking down on that "I didn't see em statement". Probably never as the gov hates crotch rockets anyway. Good luck getting another Busa.

Damn, I missed this one!

I'm so sorry to see your Busa in pieces like that Projekt, but I'm glad you're okay. The gear saved you from months of waiting for skin to heal...probably spared you a broken bone or two as well...

Good luck with the insurance stuff...not going to be easy, I'm sure...

oh man, yeah i missed this one too... went looking for it after seeing the poll thread about rebuild/new....

Glad u are ok, that looks like a really scary scene... The healing will take time, but at least u are here to tell us about it...

Be safe

missing picture??

Where's the tape outline of where the cars driver body was found or the bloodstains where you yanked him out of the driver side window... I'd have had to have killed the moron.
