Proposed Runs for Bash

I'll be arriving Wed night. Thursday morning through Friday afternoon is my quality time on the Dragon. Saturday all of the crazies are in there clogging it up. A nice ride on the outer roads is definately in order Saturday afternoon. For a newbie ride, I would think 125 miles is probably max (tentative route below). For those more experienced riders, I have a route that is 300 miles of pure heaven if anyone is interested I'll post it up.
I'm interested

Ok. I had to replot it since it must have been on my laptop that went belly up. Comes out to ~350 miles from Philips back to Philips.

300 miles of heaven

There are a few variations of this loop that you can use to shorten/lengthen the trip and still be on some awesome roads.
where is the map?

Only thing concrete here is the wife and I will ride to Tellico Plains and back via the Skyway for breakfast at that kicking little Bistro over there on the banks of.... that river Thursday am. 8:30 sounds good and the breakfast there is highly recommended!

Hooters run nearly killed us last time....

Have to think about that one...

Good job with the ride plan though!
Hey YH2K is this the place? I don't see breakfast on their menu

Are you thinking of leaving Robbinsville at 8:30 or being in Tellico at 8:30?

Don't know how many crazy folks would join me, but I'm going to do a skyway and dragon night run this year for sure!

All kinds of critters, big and small, come out at night on those mountain roads.
Almost took out a 300 lb critter with antlers last September in the sunlight. My goal is to be at the top of the skyway at sunset. I do most of my riding at night, so I'm pretty comfortable with it. HID helps mucho!

Hal, I am up for a night ride with ya, if you're game, provided:
No rain immediately prior to the ride
nice and slow around the "slide" area adjacent to Tapoco Lodge
smile.gif
I'm down. did it last year with DO3, punisher and justight

Thats the place. When we went last time it was on a Sunday and they had a kick'n breakfast. Maybe the place has changed hands since we were there last. Hummmmm ....maybe we will just have to do lunch then?

I actually emailed them yesterday and inquired about a) do they still serve breakfast and b) can they handle / accomodate a smallish group for late breakfast / brunch.

Heard nothing back as of yet and the phone number on a Google search tones out as 'out of service'. Apparently the Bistro was absorbed by a large resort that is adjacent to it - again, I'll update as I get info.

As far as the Skyway run, I plan on doing it Thursday morning either way, especially in light of Don's offer for a tour of the area. A low speed (posted speed limit), well spaced run for first timers might be good if they want to go cause I do ALL of my hot rodding at the track!

New ride threads being posted up, please check them out and chime in if you are attending any of them

Me too.....
Yeah Kev....

But you do much better hot rodding at the track than I do!
I'll get there one day though

If I can break a 2 minute lap at Barber in March I am gonna be sooooooo cocky!
I think I could walk it in 4 minutes!

I was saying that if I 'lead' anyone across the Skyway that morning we will take it nice and easy and proceed at the speed limit!
No more citations to the poor guy riding drag

If you want to do breakfast the Cherohala Market (home of the Rice Krispie Treats and Mayfields Milk) has a great country breakfast...

Yo Don!

Put together a ride route on Google Maps or some other program and get it to his Bogus'ness so that he can post it up as ride! I'll try to get us to a way point at about 0925hrs (most map programs list the ride from Robbinsville to Tellico as 45 minutes) to meet with you and you can lead us from there. I'll try to have some chatter boxes by then
winkold.gif

We will plug a breakfast stop somewhere there at the start and if The Bistro is gonna go all uppity on us that market you listed would be puhfecto!

I think it would be cool to see some new country this trip!

I need to ride Suches and Blood Mountain too... one of these trips! Friday maybe???

I have volunteered to lead a group back from Hooters on Friday, but if you and maybe others are interested in a Suches ride and Mr Bogus can find a replacement for me on the Hooters return...I would be happy to lead the Suches Ride instead of going to Hooters.

I'd lots rather go hit Suches and Blood Mountain!

I have a Hooters 2 blocks from my house!

I think we need to preserve the Hooters run as it is the only "Full Group" run planned for the weekend other than the photo shoot.

I think Zukracer hit that on the head " 100 Busa's pulling through town into Hooters" I think the local paper will be there to document that ride..

That ride will split up after lunch, from there anything goes
smile.gif

Ok, Mr. B has spoken!

Maybe we can hit Blood Mountain after the group shot?!
