Well 'sedd'...

Have a good un! :beerchug:

yep, fishing... and the one they pull over for no other reason than "looks like the one..." will be the poor bastid that don't have insurance or inspection expired etc. and gets hemmed up over something stupid

Illegal is illegal. He shouldn't be on the road then. Same for the fools that ride around without proper licensing, permit etc. You want to play...
Stupid is as stupid does....

If someone stole your bike, I bet you would he happy as .... if they pulled over every orange and black. they are doing their job. probably not that many orange and black hayabusas compared to white Chevy trunks.

police... hate em till you need them.

Vebusa, we are on the same page here. I have not bashed the cop for doing his job, but I did mention the fact that I was treated very disrespectfully after being pulled over on my way to work just like any other law obiding citizen except for the fact I was on a bike.

I am an ex-correctional offer and understand "doing my job", believe me. The purpose of me posting this was not to start a police bashing session, but as my original post states "an FYI" to people riding in Austin. Perhaps the person that they are looking for is a member on this thread...

For a place that doesn't like Socialism there sure is slot of support for letting the police do anything they want.

Police State = Socialism, or is it Socialism = Police State.:rulez:

Really.

Do want to be bothered by the cops for speeding..
Then don't buy a bike with 170+ HP. And a reputation for the fasted production bike ever made.

Every car on the road can break the speed limit, so what's your point?

your rights are your rights. Some take then more seriously then others. The time factor is what bothers me still. Happened a month ago, that still doesn't amount to probable cause to be pulled over. Maybe if the passenger was on the bike and matched description. But just an orange and black bike my boss would be unhappy to say the least. Personally it wouldn't bother me if I were treated well. If I was treated poorly I would be less tolerant.

Pretty much every vehicle produced today can except the speed limit...

I want to sum up a few things to show what this thread was created for:

1) Dont run from cops, it makes us all look bad and makes some of us late for work because it forces cops, regardless of the symantics used, pull someone over based on the type of vehicle they are riding

2) If a cop wants to pull over a person based solely on the vehicle they drive, be courteous and just maybe the person you pull over can possibly assist you in your investigation

3) Dont go 100 miles an hour down I-35 and kill you or someone else in the process

4) If you choose to ignore number 3, pull over when you get caught and suffer the consequence so the rest of us dont have to

5) Pulling over a bike that looks like the one that outran a cop over a month ago is not going to ever lead to the conviction of the culprit so why do it?

#5: He might have pulled you over to see if the Orange Busa would run again...wouldn't know until he hit the lights, then he's committed to pulling you over anyway...

Yeah I'm sure when I am driving down the road people

His point was...The asshat on the orange busa that ran & has now given the PO suspicion and probable cause for all orange black bikes. It's the actions of the few that we are all judged by. Like they need another excuse to be biased towards sport bikes? I don't know the area you live in but, mine is plagued with retards every spring! I cannot tell you how many bad getoffs and running has occurred thus far this year here. It's like a daily blip on the local news.

Well, I would think that if I was going to run from the cop I would have done so when he was riding dangerously close to the back of my bike going 60 miles an hour down I-35 radioing in my license plate for a half mile. If I were a cop I probably wouldnt have hit my lights after following a bike that close for that long who i suspected runs from cops. No one who runs from cops would let them get close enough long enough to read their plate...

But, you make a decent point as this crossed my mind before rationalizing above.

I had this happen to me once, lucky for me the officers were more professional about it. I was stopped by one unit for what I believed was no reason. he explained to me what was going on they were looking for a runner. After 20 minutes the officer that was in chase pulled up obviously upset, my bike matched the description but he said he couldn't get close enough to see the plate or get close enough to positively i.d. me and they let me go. an no it wasn't me :poke:

Your stop doesn't make any sense, I mean understand why they stopped you, to check you out and bring the officer who was in pursuit. The officer that gave chase came over positively i'd your bike, yet they let you go. They took down your information to give it to an investigator??? Who is investigating it if not the officer who was in pursuit ??? Did they take your information to fill in the blanks in the pursuit officers report ??? This investigation or inquiry doesn't seem right. :dunno: Hope it works out for you

I know some people who would say that, but what does that have to do with the comment you made about hp, speed and being pulled over?

I didn't get that, I thought his point was "don't buy a vehicle that can exceed the speed limit if you don't want to get pulled over. Regardless, just because a bike or any vehicle ran, that doesn't make it right for them to pull over every thing that looks familiar.
