Purged Old Member Names

To keep this place running smoothly and keeping the database as clean as possible we purged out over 7,000 member accounts last night. Here is the criteria that we used.

1. Account never posted on the board
2. Account was over a year old

You can see that on the registered members the number is down again. I will be continually cleaning things out more and more. The lead developer for Ikonboards has been working with the admins to make some changes and as he has gone through the backend of the site and the database he stated he was amazed at the size of the DB, 800 meg of text is a lot.

If you lurk on the site you need to make sure that you post at least once.

Just for sh!ts and giggles where are we currently at...seems like we're getting more members all the time.

One of those old names was mine...I had a 10 mo. lay-off and came back as something better.

hmm...does a person's member number change when this happens?
just wondering if a person that joined recently and continues to post, could possibly have a higher member number than the total number of members listed?
not that it matters really...just courious about if the db info is static or dynamic.

sometimes people dig up a OLD thread asking questions of members that are
not here anymore. It is good to be able to read them, but they should not be able
to be bumped back to life.
