Defectron, please take my comments in the context of my liking a very tight helmet.
I wear a Shoei T-800 XL, which was a snug fit when new but is now only semi-snug (but still tight enough for racing) after being worn in. It is now a good snug fit with a thin balaclava on.
In my new Skidoo Modular XL, I have exactly the same fit as the Shoei was when new. Its head padding is very similar to the Shoei, so I expect it to fit the same as my Shoei XL when it's worn in.
If a new T-800 XL is a perfect fit for you, the Skidoo XL will be too and you will have room for a thin balaclava.
I tried on the L in the Skidoo and it was very snug. I would probably have chosen it IF I never intended to wear a balaclava with it. But even such a great cold weather helmet as this needs to be worn with a balaclava for your neck.
When you pick a color, note that the yellow comes covered in (removeable) decals, while the black and the gray have no decals. All three colors are highly polished. The black hides the Star Wars detailing such as the breath exhausts and other vents, while the gray or yellow show them off very nicely.
