Alright...this is nuts. I mean....I know I ride fairly agressive and all...but I don't do burnouts.

This is my second B56. It now has right at 1550 miles on it....and I'd guess I've got maybe 300 more miles to the wearbars..

Jeeez! The front is about toasted now too...sides are all skweehawed..center is fine

The question is; Can I expect the same (lackluster) lifespan from Pilot Powers? I will not go with a tire that sticks less than the B56....not gonna do a sport-tour style tire..

But holy smoke!!!

Good Question!

But, I don't have an answer.

Okay, I'll go back to just reading and waiting for someone with knowledge to answer...

I have gotten slightly better mileage with pilot powers than bt-56's.

But I have experienced much better grip and handling with pilot powers

Yea, that's what I thought Charles..

there are 2 different 190/50zr17's listed. the second one has a "G" after the #'s... which one is correct for the Busa?

I was wondering that as well. It may be an OEM version for the R1 but I have nothing to validate that other than they were offered on the r1 (year?) as Original Equipment. As for the PP's I have read of people getting nearly 5000 miles from them. Is this factual or just bragging?

Not sure about the "g" I would get the standard powers.

How many miles you get out of it is dependant on how hard you ride it.

How hard you brake, accel, and corner. Taking it easy, you could easily get 6 grand out of a tire.

I wasn't going to, but Hank just showed up...

Let's face it MJN, you're not going to get the kinda mileage out of tires that you get from...

let's say...

I got 3200 out of my oem BT56's...but should've drawn the line a tad sooner...however...I got right at 5K out of my old PP's...was just touching the wearbars on the front but was 1/2 way through the wearbars on the rear...and really?..I'd of been best off it I changed the PP's out at 4K...at least by 4,500...as 5K was pushing things...also...I maintained the PP's very well...proper psi at all times and zero abuse/burnouts...however...after seeing and feeling how thin and flimsey the sidewalls were as compared to my new qualifiers?..and the added traction of the qualifiers..and zero squirm of the qualifiers?...even when pushed as hard as I can ride?..no doubt the PP's were great and heads and tails over the BT56's but...they're last years rage..and a new king has arrived..."Dunlop Qualifiers"...awesome tires...and ar to the PP's what the PP's were to my oem BT56's.

Oh, I know I've got some time left on them...but it won't be near 3500 miles...

I also know by experience that the B56 gets a little slippery when it gets this thin.

I have a 1000 mile ride in July to get ready for...I'll have to get new skins before that..

You guys are way to hard on tires I get about 12,000 out of them. But then again I commute ALOT!

I have to agree with this guy, cuz my bt56 had 4500 mi on it and had a flat(I had to get a new tire..) but it was not even closed to half way down...and now I've got a M-1 in it now...
and 2000 mi on it, and a little wear and basically all the shine parts are gone...
In the front? got 6500 total miles on it now...its not even half way down...I'm guessing it will go at least another 7~8k more miles,I expected...

I just had my second set of powers mounted up a couple weeks ago. I got exactly 10,000 miles on my powers. I ride HARD to. Anyone that rides with me will back that up so in my opion they are just a hardcore sweet performing tire. Get em dude you will be very satisfied. Here is a pic of what mine looked like at 10,000 miles so judge for yourself.

Whooooooooooooooooooooa Nelly! Don't look now but the men dressed in white suits are just around the corner with the straight jacket. But don't worry, with proper medication they'll bring you back to reality

Would somebody tell this boy his mama put new tires on his busa twice when he wasn't looking
