Questions About My 09 Busa

Hello everyone,

As I posted I have an 09 Busa. I have Two Brothers Carbon slip ons and a PC-V for it. The dealer said not to put anything on until I get the 600 miles on it and the 600 miles service and then put everything on. I kinda can understand the PC-V but what about the slip ons????

I really want some sound so people can hear me since you all know they can not see us.

So should I wait or would I be ok by putting the slip ons now with about 150 miles on the bike?

Thanks

I dont see how slip ons now would 'hurt' anything.
I put Muzzy Slip ons on mine after like two days.
Ordered a Muzzy 4into1 header and put it on at like 1k.

The PC V while I have one I dont know much about but I would say it wont hurt to wait a bit on that.

If you are just doing slip on's, you may not need the PC. Not sure on the warranty. Welcome to the oRg!

Slip on's will not affect break-in or warranty. Put them on. Take back the PC 5, unless you are getting a full system, you don't need it and it is a waste of money both for the PC and the dyno time it would take to squeeze out 3 extra horses which you don't need either. Take that money and get yourself a gel seat, a DB windscreen, and some nice riding gear and by the way, :welcome: to our party:thumbsup:

Also, if it backfires a little bit during deceleration, make sure you plug the PAIR intake tube with a marble or a pen cap. Feel free to hit me with any more questions.

You'll be fine with slip on's, I've ran bikes in the past with r-77 full systems and was ok. the fuel systems on gen 2 bikes are really good...

Thanks for all the advise. I guess I might get the slip ons done this weekend. Do the PC-V after the break in is done. I will just have to find time. I am closing on my new house today and slowly moving a bit this weekend and the big move on Tuesday. Wow no time with work and moving. But I bet you I get it done.

:welcome: 09busa.

Honestly...the PC-V is not necessary w/ the set-up you're currently running. You can keep it for the future in case you end up getting a full system. Or you can post it up in our classifieds Main Index - Hayabusa Classifieds if you want. You can even feel free to PM me if want to unload it, as I might be interested in taking it off your hands

Sounds like you have a nice ride....that being said:

:worthless:

Dealer here adds slip ons to their new bikes they sell, usually yoshi, obviously does not void warranty or effect break in...Lets see some pics..

Here is a pic of it at the river. I now have the seat cowl on. I will get more pics up as I add the goodies to her.

I had the Two Brothers Carbon slip-ons on my K8, and a pipercross air filter.
Never got a PCIII fitted and it ran well. Don't forget with just slip-ons the ECU will still control the A/F ratio to factory specs because the hot O2 sensor is in the headers.
I had mine on the dyno after fitting the cans & filter. The A/F ratio wobbled around but it was safe, ie - not lean and not too rich. My dyno guy said a PCIII / PCV would make for a crisper throttle response as the A/F ratio would be tuned spot on, but any increases in power would be minimal.

IMO, return / sell you PCV and put the cash towards braided lines and HH pads.

Hope this helps.

:welcome: to the oRg. All you'll get is better sound out of the slip-ons and maybe a reduction in weight, and better appearance. PC not required.
