Raced a Gixxer 1000...

Raced a buddies 02 Gixxer 100, bone stock. I am still being kinda easy on the launch, bogged it a bit so he would get a very mild jump of about a bike length and we would just stay right there through about 110 ish mph. Did 3 runs, neither of us could pull away, it did seem towards the end I weas starting to slightly catch him, but below 100mph I could not pass him *shrugs*, maybe there is some truth to this whole TRE is slower thing

I just yanked it off, maybe we'll go at it again tommorow.

IMO to 100-110mph its mostly rider...you should be able to clobber that bike from anywhere to anywhere.

You won't out pull any of the hot liter bikes by much with a stock busa. Your stock busa is probably slightly faster on both the low end as well as the top end but a good running gixxer will be nibbling on your tail light all the way. If you run a K5, I wouldn't bet any money on winning? When I tried a K5 on for size, I found it to be a bike length faster than my busa up to about 160.

Yeah I'm not upset or anything, I just wanna get the launch down because I know it can be launched hard enough to stay in front.

The Busa will need to have a near perfect launch to give the K5 a run for its money at those speeds.... Now, go faster and with a slight mirror adjustment U should be able to keep the 1k in sight!

There is something wrong with your Busa. You should be able to beat a 100 (hey you said it, not me) with no problem

Seriously though, I thought the '05 were supposed to be the sick ones, I wasn't aware the '02 was able to stay up with the Busa.

i do setup in the shop i work in -05gsxr 1000 seems to pull harder than my stock busa--and yea i hate it as much as any one--thank god for aftermarket

The Busa used to be the fastest all around and now its place is in the top end runs.

I'm not surprised at all, more hp and 100lbs lighter, it should beat the Busa. And actually it shows how good the Busa really is to still be able to hold its own.
The Busa is a 7 year old platform.

His bike runs pretty strong, he layed down 145 at the rear wheel. I think they got pretty quick in 2000.

I was reffering to the K5, the 1000GSXR came out in 2001, not quite as fast as the Busa but handled better in the canyons.

Before they redesigned it in '03, the Gixxer was king of the litre bikes. And don't ever believe that the '02 Gixx was a tease because it wasn't...

This is Crazy Stuff man. is the busa the fast production motorcyle made or not . Nothing I mean nothing on wheels have ever beaten me. Although my busa is stock with 159HP
at the rear wheel. i have yet to have ANYONE follow me to 186MPH on or in ANY vehicle . it makes me smile to smoke these "Gixxer" Squids who make fun of " OUR" motorcyle . its a "BUS" its too heavy "Get a real motorcyle." I smoke em every chance I get. So here's a tissue . theres no crying at

It may be the fastest, but it is not the quickest, the K5 and the R1 both trap consistently 5mph higher or so when tested by the mags. Hell the R1 has even been shown to trap as high as 147mph out of the damn box.

I also beat a gixxer last weekend it was so sweet.Athought it was very close like Toredo said in fast/furious "winning is winning".

Sorry but the Busa is relegated to the top spot of flatout speed. My zx10 will beat it to 160 and then I get the dog walked after that. Ain't nothing I can do about it. The k5 gixxer will hang neck and neck with my k5zx it's all rider. and mine is box stock except a seat cowl.
