I have a mid-June sport tour of WV and have considered the H.A.R.D. system, but it is alot of money, no?
I have an Escort S2 cordless and fahioned a reflector for it (like cobra or BEL used to offer) so it can be carried vertically in the jacket breast pocket, use small corded earphone. I know this isn't the best set up, but bikes have a relatively small cross section and radar needs to be much closer to pick up a bike than a car, so it is much better than no radar detection at all.
The ultimate set up would be an antenna hidden in the headlight and taillight nacelles, used with the H.A.R.D. set up. I don't like the attention a screamer attracts, so for me that isn't an option.
Question for you guys running the H.A.R.D. set up: what was the lead time when you ordered it? Did you get it fairly quickly?
