I hadn't posted this as an attempt to sell tickets for this event. I originally was using it for a sounding board as guns can be such a passionate issue both for and against and was hoping to get an idea of what backlash if any this could produce. A couple have expressed interest in it, if anyone does want in on it just drop me a pm or go to the lodge website fop241 and there is a link there for tickets that goes directly to my email. There is also a raffle area where you can get more info as well just keep in mind we are still working on developement of the website, our programmer is still adding areas and I'm still working on content so it is in its very early stages of existence. Anyone out of the area would just have to pay shipping to their local dealer, usually $25 or less, then they would complete the transaction from their local dealer just as if they had bought the gun from them. So to make a long story short, if you can walk down to your local dealer and legaly buy it you are good to go. Anyone with questions on out of state sales drop me a pm, I've bought and sold through internet sites such as gunbroker.com and it's a pretty simple process.

Anyone who has any experience in web sites I would welcome any comments or suggestions on the web site as well. This is a first for me and any and all input, good or bad, would be appreciated.

Thought I'd give a little update on this project in the event anyone is involved in a group that a fundraiser such as this might work for. First off it has been a little bit of work, not overwhelming by any means but it has required some organization. We began selling tickets about mid December so we had just a little over two months to sell tickets before the first drawing. Sales started off kind of slow and we didn't hit break even point until about mid January. Break even to cover costs was approximately 425 tickets. We had our first month's drawing this past Thursday (Feb 19), As of drawing time we had sold 1002 tickets. This put our profits at a more than expected level so it has been a success for us and we are already planning on doing it again next year. In just two months we have already raised more than half of what we operated off of last year. The beauty of it is that we will still continue sales efforts so any additional sales will only further increase our profits. The other thing that is amazing is that we have had zero negative complaints about it. Part of what we were concerned about and one of the reasons that I posted up here asking for opinions was to get an idea about public perception from a diversified group.

If anyone has a group or organization which they do fundraisers for and a raffle such as this may be a consideration hit me up and I'll explain a few more of the details and workings of it.
