Raising The Rear?

BT 016 = 3,000-4,000 miles softer, stickier tire...GREAT for really pushing the envelope  if you do a lot of mountains, canyon type riding

That's what I want to hear . I've got a brand new set on my baby, just waiting for a chance to scrub them in.

Just a note to keep in mind, raising the rear will not help you with your chicken strips. It will make your bike tip in quicker but has no effect on testicle growth which is directly related to the size of chicken strips!

+1 the size of your stones is what gets rid of chicken strips...now to anyone that thinks that chicken strips or the lack of them mean that your are some kind of hot shot rider

LMAO! I was just lookin for better handling around some turns, and I do push the envelope, can you recommend a sticky tire I'm gonna get alot more miles on?

Sticky AND get a lot more miles on...they don't go together :(

What are you using now?

If you change the front to rear attitude by 1 1/2", I hope you have an ape strong back to with the vulture arms if you aren't going to correct the riding position.

There are 3 topics on the board that will generate somewhat heated discussions: what tires, what oil, and should I install a tre.

My personal preferences are: AVON Storms (more than capable high mileage sport touring tire that the race tires on the street crowd say are hard as a rock and neutering the performace of the Busa), Amsoil Full Synthetic 10-40, and No. There, I've done it. I've gone and opened up the Pandora's box.

You are right; the box is open however, not on the Amsoil which I have heard nothing but good things about though I havent used it myself but the tires. O.K. I personally am an advocate for the stock BT-56.

Mileage: 5,000 at least

Looks: Scale of 1-10 (6)

Cold/Wet: (8)

Performance/Handeling: Scale 1-10 (Off the Charts!!!!)

I can give you testimony after testimony on these underrated jewels but i will limit it to just these. I practice on the back roads Where I live in Georgia; Plenty of twisties; I have scraped the footpegs on mine and never slipped the rear at all. In an emergency turn coming off the highway where a cager decided he wanted to cut in front of my lane while i was turnining right into traffic:please:; put it this way my elbow and the asphalt have a pretty good relationship and the Battle-ax BT-56:bowdown: saved the day again.
Taking this into consideration the cheapest place I have found to order them from is; Link no longer works . Stockers are the way to go unless you just like spending a ton of cash on a name and a tread pattern? As for me , as long as the 56's are being made thats what I'll get, now if you do the track then I look forward for someone to give me a performance report cause I havent been to the track.

Raise the rear definitally help in corners, plus at 190/55 tire.

I went with a link from schnitz, its really almost a 1.5" link and a set of power Pilot 2CT's do a damper mod or another stablizer and go blast some corners.

Metzlers... Stock sizes.

M1's were good...M3's were better :beerchug:

The Bridgestone BT 016 offers even better grip with a bit more durability

The Avon Storms will give you twice the mileage of the other three, they do handle well, but with more mileage they are not as soft as the others and will not stick as well
