So, a couple of years ago he borrowed my 3/4 ton diesel ram, towed some stuff to the airport, opened the hanger and crushed the side of the ram against the hanger. Had to fix the door hinges and bend the door back a little and the ram was good to go again...

Well, he doesn't have a truck so I let him use my Explorer whenever he wants so he can haul stuff around when he needs. Guess what... Took it to the airport and opened the hanger again...

My nice little 1st gen, rust free, in awesome shape Explorer. Pffffffffffffff, I guess he couldn't get the hatch closed so he took it off. I have yet to go home and make sure the body itself isn't damaged, but I know I need a new hatch and hinges.

Disappoint...

ummmm at least you know he dont have Alzheimer's...he remembered to do it again

This is gods punishment for going with him to help him. Be glad you have your dad around to do this stuff, I miss my father.

He lives two hours away, when I'm with him I do help him out with this stuff. I didn't yell at him, I didn't get upset at him because it was an accident; but you just gotta sit back and go 'well ****.' I'm just not looking forward to getting another hatch, painting it swapping over all the mechanics and glass...

Yeah man, if they are around long enough they switch place with you, he is now the teenager you are the parent, enjoy it.

God, don't say that... he's building an airplane! That's part of why I'm with him when I can be is because I don't want him to kill himself in that thing. What really scares me is for some reason these airplane people use solid core wires putting everything together. If not done right those solid core wires can break apart under vibration real easily and you're losing gauges, radios, even one of the ignitions.

Blah...

While I'm mentioning it I guess, here's what he's towing around when he breaks my trucks; it's called a Vari-eze, it's been a 10 year project so far.

Man you have the coolest dad, you are feeling teh same way he felt the first time you took the family car out with your buddy's. Is he Bert Rutan or something?

I donno, I don't think my dad ever doubted me while driving; now a motorcycle, that's a different story. I kind of want to get rid of my project car to get a Cassutt so we can go flying together.

Next he will borrow the bike and you will have to pick it up with the explorer and without the hatch it will be easier to put the frame in it. Because he put the Busa motor in the plane :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:
I miss my dad enjoy your time with him. Last time I saw my dad was when I coded on a hospital bed during surgery and he appeared and told me it will be alright.
