It is by far the best method I have ever used. I use a front wheel chock & then place the bike on the rear stand. I loop the rear straps around the swingarm & then loop around the stand so the stand & swingarm are attached. I then then ratchet both ends tight to the floor hooks so there is absolutely no movement. I use a canyon dancer on the front, but w/ the chock it is just added stability.
I use the rear tire stand and the tire chock in mine and it is very stable to me. I haven't had or heard of any down side to this.. I run a canyon strap to my rear pegs like I did the handle bars. It holds it very firmly..
Baxley says to put the bike in the stand, then put two straps pulling forward, out and down. I have pulled four busas in the trailer thousands of miles this way with not one issue. I don't think I would want my bike on the rear stand while towing it.
