Rear tire install

most of the searching ive done on this subject ... the guys have left the rear Caliper in place

I am finding the pads lay closed as im sliding the wheel in and difficult to fit in between the two brake pads

am I better off dropping the calipers.... whats the trick to keeping the pads spread apart ...they seem to be spring loaded

I use a long screwdriver to keep the pads separated.

You didn't operate the brake while the wheel was off did you?

nope I didnt ... they just seem to spring together ... they can be seperated easily but wont stay apart when I slide the wheel in

I use my feet to position the wheel and hold the brake pads apart with my fingers. I also spread the pads with old edger blades; any flat piece of metal would do. Make sure you pump them up good before going to far. First stop sign is a good reminder.
