Restricted Busa?

Hey guys, I'm kinda new to the Busa world and I always heard that some Busa's were "restricted" and some earlier years were not. Does that mean that some years the Busas power was restricted and if so how the hell do I undo this to get the max power.

Thanks

Husky,
Restricted means that all 2000 and newer Busas are limited to 186 MPH. This was an agreement between Honda, Kawasaki and Suzuki because of how fast the bikes were becoming and the availability to inexperienced riders. 1999 Busas are unrestricted. As far as removing the restriction, there are a couple of tuners on the board Johnny Cheese being the first one that I think of - so you'd be best off asking him. But, this is what a TRE is supposed to do. The TRE is a Timing Retard Eliminator that essentially tricks the bike into thinking it is always in 5th gear. (This is a very oversimplified explaination) so that bike continues through the restriction. I don't have one, because I won't ever need to go faster than 186, but my understanding is that you lose a little bit of low side power in exchange for driving through the restriction. Having said that - welcome to the board!

I bought one so I can go 200 just once.
