It's great to be back!
I used to post here around 2020 when I'd restored a Gen 1 Hayabusa and thanks to this forum I ironed out all the bugs and got it running perfectly. I then traded it in for a Gen 2 Super Duke R, which I loved and gave me 22000km of near trouble-free riding. What a bike! Well, I just traded my Super Duke for a Gen 3 Hayabusa, so I've gone full circle. The dealer gave me a great price for the KTM - much more than I expected. When I took out the demo gen 3 Hayabusa, I had memories of the brutal power of my previous stock gen 1, so comparing them was interesting. I could definitely 'feel' the DNA is still there, but what a damn improvement overall. The way it pulls from nowhere and just keeps going and going - utterly intoxicating. It's got the same old clunky gearbox, but I think Suzuki's done a brilliant job tuning in the low-end torque. The quickshifter going up is good (definitely didn't experience the lag some people have posted about), but autoblipping down seems way off, like it's clunking into gear. That didn't deter me though, and I'm glad the front brake master's been sorted. Hopefully I pick up my new warp 1 ship in the next couple of days. I also currently own an L6 GSXR1000. I'm looking forwards to learning all I can about this bike. I've already downloaded the manual from this excellent forum.
