mrmjpac posted up a ride for Friday in SoCal and I had nothing going on, so we met up after rush hour and headed up the mountain  

It was a little chilly

We got up to the turn off for 9 mile and ran into a little of this....

We had come up the sunny side of the mountain and the rest of the road contiued on the shady side.

Sooo,
we turned around.

Didn't bring our snow chains

His is a '99 with something like 11,000miles on it. He's only had it a couple months.

Mine of course is the fastest colors, black and blue

They just don't make grippy chains yet.

I mean the tire technology is much further ahead of chain technology. Warm-up time and edge grip just aren't satisfactory with the chains. Chains do have decent durability. But without the grip....
